CPI(M)’s Fake Secularism : Namaz in Party Office Allowed, Hindu Rituals Branded Communal In Kerala

The Indian Left, led by CPI(M), never misses a chance to showcase its dangerous hypocrisy. A viral video from Kerala, showing a man offering Namaz inside a CPM office, is being glorified by the Left ecosystem as a ‘symbol of secularism’. But scratch beneath the surface, and the story reeks of double standards. The same party that disrupts Hindu rituals, humiliates temple-goers, and even questions its leaders for casual visits to astrologers, suddenly finds virtue in turning its office into a prayer hall. This is not secularism this is selective appeasement, and it is an insult to Hindus and to the Constitution itself.

CPM’s “Secular” Drama in Kerala

Recently, a video went viral in Kerala showing a man offering Namaz inside a CPI(M) office. The man, drenched in rain while selling bedsheets, asked for a place to pray and was allowed inside. CPM leaders and sympathisers rushed to portray this as a touching moment of “brotherhood” and “inclusivity.”

The video was proudly shared by Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of former Kerala home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. His post glorified CPM as an organization that respects faith and protects the “goodness” of people. Social media warriors from the Left gushed over this spectacle, but the hypocrisy is glaring.

The Same Party That Disrupted Ganapathi Homam

It is laughable that the same CPI(M) which now gets “emotional” about allowing Namaz once disrupted a Ganapathi Homam during the inauguration of a school building in Kozhikode. At the time, the school management was accused of pushing the “RSS Gujarat model” in Kerala. The CPM machinery and Education Minister V. Sivan Kutty even ordered an inquiry. Members of the school management were harassed, some arrested.

So, when it comes to Hindu prayers, CPM sees “communalism” and “danger to secularism.” But when it comes to allowing namaz in a party office, suddenly it becomes a grand example of love and inclusivity. The double standards are out in the open.

The hypocrisy does not end there. Just last week, CPM state secretary M. V. Govindan was questioned for visiting astrologer Madhava Poduval. Though it turned out to be a health visit, the party scrutinised it as a violation of “party principles.”

The same rules apply to temple visits. Senior leader Kadakampally Surendran once had to explain himself for visiting the Guruvayur temple. Ironically, it was Kodiyeri Balakrishnan father of Bineesh Kodiyeri, who is today promoting the namaz video who raised objections against Surendran’s visit.

The unwritten rule is simple: Hindus performing a Ganapathi Homam, visiting temples, meeting astrologers, or celebrating festivals like Janmashtami or Vinayaka Chaturthi can face inquiries, disciplinary action, or arrests. But namaz inside a party office? That is hailed as “secularism.”

Violating Article 25 and the Constitution They Claim to Protect

The right to practice religion is clearly enshrined in Article 25 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees all citizens the right to freely profess, practice, and propagate their faith. This right, subject only to public order, morality, and health, is universal.

CPI(M) and the Left liberals often cry that the Constitution is under “threat” under BJP rule. Yet they themselves trample over Article 25 when it comes to Hindus. By banning temple visits, humiliating astrology consultations, and disrupting Hindu rituals, they have repeatedly violated the very Constitution they claim to safeguard.

Communists Have Always Been Anti-Nation, Anti-Hindu

This hypocrisy is not new. During the 1962 India-China war, when India was bleeding against Chinese aggression, Communist Party of India the parent of CPI(M) openly sided with China. EMS Namboodiripad, then Kerala CM, refused to call Chinese infiltration aggression and even opposed blood donations to injured Indian soldiers, calling it “anti-party.”

If they could betray the nation in 1962, should anyone be surprised that they betray Hindus and Hindu sentiments today? CPI(M)’s DNA has always been anti-Hindu, anti-national, and pro-appeasement.

CPM’s Selective Secularism Exposed

CPI(M)’s viral video of prayers in its office is not about “love” or “unity” it is about selective appeasement and deliberate Hindu-bashing. When Hindus pray, the party screams “communalism.” When others pray, it is glorified as “secularism.”

This dangerous hypocrisy not only violates Article 25 of the Indian Constitution, but also exposes the party’s deep-rooted contempt for Hindus. From disrupting Ganapathi Homam to humiliating temple-goers, and from standing with China in 1962 to crying crocodile tears today, CPI(M) has always chosen ideology over India.

True secularism means respecting all faiths equally something the Left will never practice. Their double standards stand exposed, and Hindus must remember: the Left has never been on their side, and never will be.
