Himachal Pradesh erupts against Khalistani extremism: Manali locals confront biker displaying Bhindranwale’s flag

Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale

Manali witnessed a bold stand against Khalistani propaganda as locals confronted a biker from Punjab for displaying a Khalistani flag featuring the image of terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

The incident unfolded on Saturday (15 March). Local Manali residents expressed outrage against Khalistani extremism and forcibly removed the Khalistani flag from the wooden mast attached to the motorcycle, sending a strong message against anti-national elements.

As Himachalis demanded the biker take down the flag glorifying the late seperatist leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Khalistani supporters resorted to violence, attempting to intimidate the locals. They also injured some of the locals. However, the patriotic residents of Manali did not back down and ensured the removal of the Bhindranwale flag. The entire confrontation was captured on camera and the video has since gone viral, triggering widespread outrage across social media.

Confirming the developments, Manali DSP KD Sharma stated that action had been taken against the biker under the Motor Vehicles Act.

In another display of arrogance and lawlessness, a group of 20 bikers from Punjab created a ruckus at the SADA barrier in Kasol, Manikaran Valley. The barrier, meant for the maintenance of the region, requires a nominal fee, but these bikers refused to pay, broke the barrier, and forcefully entered Manikaran.

Kullu SP Karthikeyan Gokulachandran confirmed that a case has been registered against the miscreant group. This incident further highlights the growing menace of unruly elements who believe they can disrespect the law and disrupt local peace with impunity.

Himachal Pradesh has always stood for national unity, and such pro-Khalistani provocation will not be tolerated. It is high time authorities take strict action against those attempting to spread separatist agendas in the name of tourism.
