“Sab kuch shanti purvak tareeke se hoga”, has been a popular meme template that is often used to air dejection when the hopes of accountability against those challenging the law and order goes for a toss. Now, a video of RJD leader and Lalu Yadav’s son, Tej Pratap Yadav is going viral on social media. In the viral video, Tej Pratap Yadav, can be seen threatening a Police officer with a possible suspension for not amusing him.
In the viral video, Tej Pratap Yadav can be heard saying, “Ay sipahi, ek gaana bajayenge uspe tumko thumka lagana hai (A song will be played and you will have to dance).”
‘Dance to my tune or you will get suspended’ – RJD’s Tej Pratap Yadav tells a Bihar Policeman to Dance at his home in Patna

While pointing to the cop, Tej Pratap continued, “If he doesn’t dance, he could be suspended. Bura na mano holi hai (don’t feel bad, it’s Holi).”
As the tyrannical history of Lalu Yadav’s family is known to everyone, the young cop complied and briefly danced in the midst of RJD workers.
Additionally, during the Holi celebrations, Tej Pratap also took a dig at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, saying, “He is not fit to be called uncle. Everyone has seen his mentality”.
BJP hits back with Jungle Raaj charge
Slamming the RJD leader for threatening an on-duty officer, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that it is a tradition of the RJD to take the law in their hands.
The BJP spokesperson said, “Like father, like son. Earlier, his father manipulated laws at his whim and turned Bihar into a jungle raj. Now, even after losing power, the son resorts to threats and coercion to bend the law and intimidate those who uphold it.”
He further stated that this is just a “trailer”, stressing the need to keep the RJD away from power.
Lace threat in comedy or stupidity: The Luxury of being a Tej Pratap Yadav
While threatening an on-duty officer is a crime, Tej Pratap Yadav’s threatening incident is more than likely to pass under the radar of champions of Democracy and will not find a mention in a page in the Police record books. Incidentally, there has been a series of incidents which establishes that Tej Pratap is often given a free pass for his threatening remarks, and sheer display of abuse of power, simply for being a comic. There is a liberal luxury for Tejju Bhaiya when it comes to lacing threats in comedy and stupidity.
Ironically, the key figure in the infamous protest—where the aforementioned phrase gained popularity —was an RJD party worker and the protest ironically but unsurprisingly turned violent. During the protest, he was seen carrying the green flag with its patron Lalu Yadav’s face and Lantern printed on it – the messiah of hiding criminality in the garb of Stupidity which is better summed up in Hindi phrase – Eda banke Pedda khana (Achieving hidden agenda by acting foolish).
Now, it is futile for me to repeat the horrifying tales of common residents of Bihar to highlight how RJD under Lalu Yadav ran a complete lawless regime with Jungle Raj being the only apt phrase to describe it. There are plethora of stories, even of Lalu himself looting the entire Car showroom unabashedly to enrich his in-laws to buttress the Jungle raj claim.
With RJD being the dominant ‘street thug’ in Bihar – with Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party being its mirror image in UP – it has never allowed the state to enjoy the fruits of a civilised democracy where Law reigns Supreme. Despite being out of power for better half of two decades now, the horrors of RJD’s jungle Raj are still afresh in the minds of voters.
From Grand Auto Theft in Lalu’s reign to Tej Pratap Yadav enjoying comic passes for his criminal stupidity even in opposition, Bihar is yet to get over with RJD’s Jungle Raj ahead of state assembly elections. RJD’s Jungle Raj is there to stay in Bihar as long as it keeps enjoying to be the most retributive, vengeful, powerful street thug in the state polity. Incidentally, the flip flops by CM Nitish Kumar also dilutes his resolve against RJD’s criminal empire. Such abuse of power and threat to on-duty officers — lest a civilian — laced in comedy exemplary the above meme template. It also crystal gazes into the future to show that RJD violence and threats will continue to be sugar coated as peaceful and democratic means lest there is a CM like Yogi who walks the talks and uphold the rule of law as the way it should be, especially in the states of UP and Bihar that are notorious for their lawlessness.
