At a time when YouTuber and stand-up comedian Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahabadia’s troubles had not even subsided over the ‘India’s Got Latent’ row, another stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi is now facing the heat for similar reasons.
His recent show that was slated to be held in Lucknow was canceled. The Police denied permission for the show citing law and order issues.
Incidentally, the show was canceled after the Vice Chairman of Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission Aparna Yadav submitted a complaint to the Director General of Police (DGP) against Bassi’s stand up show in Lucknow. The show was to be held on Saturday and Bassi’s team had reached Indira Gandhi Pratishthan (IGP) but the Lucknow Development Authority team sent them back.

Aparna Yadav is the daughter-in-law of late UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav. She has accused Bassi of promoting obscenity through his stand up shows.
Slamming Bassi, Aparna said, “I have seen in many of his shows that he uploads obscene content. I think YouTube should ban his content and the state government should impose a blanket ban on such programs.” In the letter, it is stated that after watching his old videos, it is clear that he uses abusive langauge. The Women’s body then urged the officer to ensure that no derogatory langauge is used against women and if possible its permission should be canceled.
@BJP4India @BJP4UP pic.twitter.com/sb7h8x41kr

She has also demanded from the DGP that permission for no such show should be allowed in future. He also demanded the Government of India to take cognisance of the matter and said that all those who make obscene comments on YouTube should be banned as they can prove to be very dangerous for the future generations.
