An X user with username @TheChronology__ through an elaborate thread has claimed to highlight the connection between United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Gandhi family. The thread claims that USAID, a U.S. government agency known for funding development projects worldwide, has connections with a key advisor of Rahul Gandhi, Vijay Mahajan. USAID, with an annual budget exceeding $50 billion, primarily operates in sectors like health, education, and development. However, under the Trump administration, revelations have surfaced suggesting that USAID was used for regime change operations rather than humanitarian aid.
The thread states that in India, USAID has significantly increased funding since 2021, particularly to NGOs and educational institutions. One such organisation, PRADAN, has been a long-time recipient of USAID funding. PRADAN, founded by Vijay Mahajan in 1982, has worked on projects like the Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI), launched in collaboration with USAID, Oxford, and IFPRI. Additionally, PRADAN was involved in a USAID-PepsiCo women’s empowerment project in West Bengal.
So USAID enters in your country on name of health, education, women empowerment but they actually work on to spread radical left ideology, funding political parties for regime change, media management etc
Now lets talk about India

The tweet also revealed that in 2012, Vijay Mahajan personally received ₹78 crore from USAID’s Millennium Innovation Fund, establishing a direct financial link between him and the agency. This is significant because Mahajan is the Chief Advisor to Rahul Gandhi and the CEO of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. He also played a crucial role in planning the Bharat Jodo Yatra, raising concerns about possible foreign funding for political activities in India.
These connections have led to speculation that the Biden administration, influenced by figures like George Soros, was supporting efforts to destabilise the Modi government. USAID has been linked to funding left-leaning NGOs, digital media outlets supporting Rahul Gandhi, and organisations like OCCRP, which has been used to target the Modi government.
Given these findings, there are increasing calls for the Indian government, particularly the Home Ministry, to audit all organisations receiving USAID funds over the past decade, especially those connected to the Gandhi family. With the Trump administration already scrutinising USAID’s financial activities, there is growing pressure for India to ensure that foreign influence does not impact its internal political affairs.
