From Makhana Board to Greenfield Airports, the Budget 2025 presented by Nirmala Sitharaman today has brought along a ray of hope for the state which was lagging behind. The Chief Minister of Bihar, JD(U) Supremo Nitish Kumar acknowledged the budget’s provisions for Bihar calling it progressive and futuristic. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for their push towards the development of Bihar. The residents of Bihar too are super happy with the Budget which is clearly visible through the lens of social media. But it seems that the budget laying a helping hand to Bihar did not sit well with a particular section who have always viewed Bihar with their classist lens.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal from Shiromani Akali Dal which was once an ally of BJP seemed disappointed and accused the BJP of favouring Bihar but not Punjab. She declared the budget an anti-farmer budget. Sucheta Dalal, a journalist who is notorious for walking along Congress path alleged that BJP is only caring about Elections and not GDP. She even called the Budget, a Bihar Budget for the steps of the Central Government to help the state.

Welcome to #BiharBudget25 — airports, makhana, minerals and what not– winning elections is important – who cares about national GDP. Will Bihar also be encouraged to increase fertility levels with higher subsidies!

Tejashwi Yadav from RJD, the key opposition party for Bihar issued standard opposition reply over Budget. He should have consulted his I.N.D.I. alliance partners who are irked by the fact that the Modi government has announced a slew of measures for poll-bound Bihar. The statement points out that winning Elections seems to be more important to Tejashwi Yadav than Bihar’s development.
Vaishali, Bihar: On #UnionBudget2025, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav says, “…Today’s budget seems to be discriminatory towards Bihar… I believe this is an anti-rural, anti-poor budget. Bihar is receiving no benefits from it. There was talk about building airports, but there’s no… pic.twitter.com/M5tWSSdp4N

These statements of disapproval for Bihar getting support from the Government highlights the classist mindset with which the Opposition parties thrive. The 2025 bugget the central government came up with received wide acknowledgement from the people.
