United States of America is all set to inaugurate Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States on January 20th. At noon (Eastern Time), Trump will take the presidential oath of office with Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts in front of the Capitol in Washington, D.C.
In recent days, members of the anti-Modi faction have raised doubts and mocked the Modi government, claiming that no one from India would be invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States. These speculations led to criticism of the diplomatic efforts under the NDA government. However, these doubts seems to have got silenced with the announcement that India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, will attend Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration. This visit is significant, as it marks the first time an Indian politician will participate in the swearing-in ceremony of a U.S. President.
