Elon Musk has trained his guns at Wikipedia after the platform described his gesture during Donald Trump’s second inauguration as resembling a Nazi salute. The left lobby since days have been trying hard to somehow paint Elon Musk’s gesture, tapping his chest and extending his arm upward, as a Nazi Salute. In these numerous attempts, Wikipedia, which has a history of being biased towards the left of the political spectrum, has come forward to give a push to the Woke lobby’s absurd claims. The online encyclopedia has held Elon Musk’s gesture as a Nazi thing which is equally funny and bizzare and holds no mole of truth.
In response to Wikipedia’s low tactics, co-founder of Tesla, Elon Musk called for “defunding” Wikipedia, accusing it of spreading disinformation under the guise of neutrality. Elon Musk slammed Wikipedia for relying on what he described as “legacy media propaganda,” arguing that the platform has become an echo chamber for biased narratives.
“Since legacy media propaganda is considered a ‘valid’ source by Wikipedia, it naturally becomes an extension of that propaganda,” Musk posted.
It was astonishing how insanely hard legacy media tried to cancel me for saying “my heart goes out to you” and moving my hand from my heart to the audience.
In the end, this deception will just be another nail in the coffin of legacy media. https://t.co/RKa3UsB7sd

The Woke media which is often described as the legacy media has been trying tooth and nail to showcase Elon Musk as a fanatic and paint him with Nazi colour. It must be kept in mind that the global left operates with the same propaganda of classifying and canceling its opponents by portraying them as Nazis, dictators, fascists, autoritarian who hate the noble idea of democracy, freedom and human rights and whatnot.
To highlight the motivated targeting campaign by the legacy media against himself, Elon Musk has furthered several Twitter posts in which, he or the X users, have included the videos of several world leaders, prominent celebrities including French President Emanuel Macron doing exactly the similar gesture that Musk did during Trump’s second inauguration, nothing that none of them were accused of doing a Nazi salute.
Wikipedia’s founder, Jimmy Wales, defended the platform, claiming that the description was factual and asked Elon Musk if there was anything inaccurate. However, this has done little to defend the indefensible action of the online encyclopedia.
Founded in 2001 and managed by the Wikimedia Foundation, Wikipedia has always claimed itself as neutral though its actions point out at the different direction. A few days back, Former Wikimedia Foundation CEO Katherine Maher admitted in her speech that Wikipedia prioritizes “minimum viable truth” over objective facts, emphasizing consensus and collaboration over accuracy. Maher also acknowledged Wikipedia’s inherent biases, suggesting that truth evolves and that neutrality is challenging due to the personal biases of contributors.
Deep Research supports these claims, showing Wikipedia’s ideological bias. Studies, including those by Larry Sanger and the Manhattan Institute, found a pronounced Left-leaning slant. Editors often deem Left-leaning sources reliable while sidelining or blacklisting Right-leaning perspectives, undermining the Neutral Point of View policy.
It must be noted that the Modi government has also raised concerns about Wikipedia’s content in November 2024, citing biases and inaccuracies stemming from the control of a small group of editors. These editors have significant authority over content, including banning edits, deleting pages, and determining disputes. This control undermines claims of openness and transparency.
