Thumb, Tapasya, Manusmriti: Rahul Gandhi goes bonkers on Hindu scriptures

On 14th December, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi went on an unhinged tirade against Hindu scripture Manusmriti, Tapasya and inadvertently ended up mocking Physical disabled people. The Congress leader trivialised the Hindu epic Mahabharata as any ordinary story which can be twisted and turned as per political interpretation by any tom, dick or harry. Incidentally, while peddling a false victimhood narrative over the Eklavya-Dronacharya Guru shishya episode, the Gandhi scion passed off the actual reason behind the developments attested in Hindu scriptures as “apki story” — while addressing BJP leaders. While dismissing the backdrop, and reasons behind the Guru-Shishya interaction, Rahul Gandhi added, “Ye apki story hai”, as he went on to peddle the casteist victimhood narrative as his own story, saying, “ye hamari story hai”.

Giving his deranged and shallow take on Tapasya, LOP Rahul Gandhi brazenly defined Tapasya saying, “Tapasya ka matlab shareer me garmi paida karna” (Translated – Tapasya means generating warmth/heat within the body).

In a deranged attempt to target the Modi government over the Adani issue, Gandhi scion’s broken tape record, he inadverently mocked physically disabled people arguing as if life of an amputee is worthless. Without beating around the bush and simply using the accusation of monopoly, crony capitalism, the Congress leader needlessly kept on dragging example of physical amputation, thumbless individuals as rendering someone worthless.

“This is Abhayamudra. Confidence, strength and fearlessness come through skill, through thumb. These people are against this. The manner in which Dronacharya cut off the thumb of Eklavya, you are busy cutting off the thumb of the entire nation…When you handover Dharavi to Adani, you cut off the thumb of entrepreneurs, small and medium businesses. When you handover India’s ports, airports and defence industry to Adani, you cut off the thumbs of all fair play business of India who work honestly.”

Notorious for doing mental gymnastics and insanely linking unrelated issues with his anti-Adani bugle, Rahul Gandhi said, “…When you implemented Agniveer, you cut off the thumb of the youth. When you have paper leaks – you had 70 paper leaks, you cut off the thumb of the youth of India…Today, you lobbed tear gas shells on farmers outside Delhi, you unleashed lathi charge on the farmers. Farmers demand MSP from you. They demand a suitable price. But you facilitate profits to Adani, Ambani and cut off the thumb of farmers. We sav Abhayamudra, we say ‘daro matt’. You say, ‘Hum aapka angootha kaat denge.’ This is the difference.”

Instead of using sane examples to further his political charge, which he is dutybound to do and protected under the Constitution, the Congress leader has been notorious for manipulating, twisting and interpreting Hindu scriptures, citing insane examples — this time it was Physcial amputation, while keeping a conspicous silence, even reverence to Abharamic belief systems – no matter how unscientific or unhuman it may be. This time as well, Hindu scriptures were at the receiving end of his deranged attacks albeit under the guise of attacking Hindutva forces, BJP and RSS.

Notably, he made these deranged remarks, demeaning Hindu scriptures giving it casteist and blatantly false spin to peddle victimhood narrative, during the “Special discussion on the 75th anniversary of adoption of the Constitution of India”.
