Under the Bima Sakhi Yojana, women would be trained to become LIC agents after completing at least the 10th standard; they can then sell insurance policies and earn commissions. Such a move will not only empower women but also make financial literacy better and improve socio-economic growth in the country as a whole. This transformational scheme reveals the unwavering commitment of PM Modi towards women’s empowerment, his vision of an inclusive society, and their economic independence.
The salary under this scheme during the initial year would be ₹7,000, during the subsequent year, ₹6,000 and in the subsequent year would be ₹5,000 only. All those women who gain their marks will also eligible for allowances up to ₹ 21,000. It creates new employment and makes the people empowered financially.
All the preparations for the event in Panipat have been made, and the Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, along with other important leaders, had already visited the venue to provide instructions. He said that the Bima Sakhi Yojana would empower women further and bring new employment opportunities. The government, he said, is focused on enhancing the living standards of women through Self Help Groups. Moreover, the Nari Shakti Bill passed has further strengthened women.
The Chief Minister hailed PM Modi as the first Prime Minister of the country who is worried about the welfare of the nation’s daughters. He recalled that PM Modi had initiated the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign from Panipat in 2015, which became a national movement. Today, from the same land of Panipat, PM Modi will announce further initiatives for the empowerment of women.
