In delightful news to Samosa lovers their prayer to include Samosa heist as a serious crime has come true. They could soon file a case against their friends for stealing their delicacy and believe me, their case will be probed on a priority basis. Many Congress-ruled governments have been ensuring that their states are ‘Crime-free’ but the only hurdle in their drive is the surge in serious crimes during the days of Hindu festivals like bursting crackers, kids playing with colours and waters, etc.
However, for the time being, this gracious service seems to be limited only in Himachal Pradesh where the state CID is probing a case of who stole CM Sukhu’s costly samosas. Underlining the gravity of the crime, an officer described the Samosa heist as an “anti-government” act.
Keeping a VIP bereft of snacks, how insensitive samosa-loving thieves can be. The law must come down heavily on such an atrocious crime. The state machinery should act in haste to ensure that SP leader Azam Khan’s ‘original’ missing buffalo, which created a stir in Uttar Pradesh, doesn’t eat the remaining evidence, I mean Samosas.
But Samosa lovers should rest assured. The success of the ongoing probe of who stole CM Sukhu’s costly samosas could ensure many more Congress governments replicate it in their states. By now, the state apparatus must be feeling ‘fatigued’ in persecuting dissenters of the Congress government, journalists, Hindu devotees, and those involved in “anti-government” acts like sharing memes.
Now that many of you have ordered a chai and a samosa, let me narrate the script of CID 2.0 as it is unfolding before our eyes.
On the 21st of October, Sukhu visited the CID headquarters to inaugurate the Cyber Wing’s new Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System station. For the VIP guests, three boxes of samosas and cakes were ordered from Hotel Radisson Blu. They were mainly meant for CM Sukhu and his delegation but due to a communication error, the snacks were distributed among the Mechanical Transport section staff.
Hunger, oh boy, the samosa thieves messed up big time, eating samosas meant for the CM. How could they expect that this criminal act, pardon, anti-government act would not be probed thoroughly and Justice be served in this case? A full-fledged inquiry led by a DSP rank officer was indeed needed to punish the perpetrators.
Based on statements of the people involved, the CID report revealed that only a sub-inspector was aware that the snacks were meant for the Chief Minister.
However, due to miscommunication, a lady inspector passed the boxes to the MT section, and the snacks that were meant for the CM’s delegation were consumed by the MT section staff.
Highlighting the gravity of the crime, a senior officer in the report referred to the incident as an “anti-government” act, condemning it as an offense that disrespected the presence of a VVIP. The report added that those involved appeared to be acting upon some ‘agenda’.
As per ANI, DGP Atul Verma confirmed that the matter is being investigated by the CID.
The question that may run into the minds of many is “Were the samosas being unknowingly gulped by the security staff or if it was an act of retaliation due to the delayed salary payments by the Sukhu government?”
Nonetheless, Congress leaders’ affinity for samosas is unparalleled and could give a run for his money to Motu Patlu famed Motu who loves eating samosas. Now he has tough competition in the form of Congress leaders who can even go on to the extent of calling a CID probe into the Samosa heist.
