PM Modi understands people’s pain: Kanchi Shankaracharya

Describing NDA as “Narendra Damodar Das ka Anushasan”, Kanchi Kama Koti Peeth Shankaracharya Shankar Vijayendra Saraswati has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he understands problems and issues of people and works to sort them out.

“God has blessed Narendra Damodar Das Modi, and his government is ‘NDA’ – Narendra Damodar Das ka Anushasan (discipline of Narendra Damodar Das),” the Shankaracharya said while addressing a function in PM Modi’s constituency Varanasi.

“PM Modi understands the challenges being faced by a common man and therefore he works towards eliminating them,” he was quoted as saying in media reports.

The Shankaracharya believed that the NDA government could be a role model for governance for countries across the world and they can emulate it.

“…with rising status and bright future, India would give fillip to global peace and India’s prosperity will contribute to global prosperity,” he asserted.

On the occasion, Modi, who was also present in the function, inaugurated an eye hospital in the city.

“Today is an opportunity to see ‘Netra Utsav’ and this is an important occasion of service. It started in Coimbatore and now the 17th hospital is starting. There are two hospitals in UP (one each) in Kanpur and Varanasi,” the Shankaracharya said.

Speaking on the occasion, Modi accused the Congress and Samajwadi Party of practicing nepotism and the policy of appeasement in UP.

“Be it the Samajwadi Party or the Congress, the development of Varanasi was neither their priority nor will it be in future. The BJP government runs on the ideology of ‘sabka vikas’,” he said, adding that in just 125 days, the start of work worth over ₹15 lakh crore is being discussed in every household.

State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several ministers and leaders of the BJP were also present on the occasion.
