Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized that people should take lessons from history and must stay united.
He made the comments while addressing an election rally in Maharashtra’s Thane on 5th October.
“Agar Hum Batenge toh, baatne wale mehfil sajaenge”. (In case we get divided, the divisive people will celebrate.) He added that it should never be allowed.
Addressing the rally, PM Modi said, “They are on a mission to divide the society and come to power. We have to take lessons from the history. We have to stay united. If we get divided, then, those who are dividing us will celebrate. Where ever they go destruction follows. They forced the country into poverty. Other parties who come into their alliance also start to talk about appeasement. Congress disrespects Savarkar. Congress is also announcing that they would bring article 370 back.”
It is pertinent to note that PM Modi’s remarks are on similar lines that UP CM Yogi Adityanath had echoed earlier this year in August, in the backdrop of a spree of violent attacks on Bangladeshi Hindus. CM Yogi had said, “Nothing can be above the nation. And the nation will be empowered only when we are united.”
‘Batenge to Katenge’: CM Yogi
“You are seeing what is happening in Bangladesh. Those mistakes should not be repeated here… ‘Batenge to Katenge, Ek Rahenge to Nek Rahenge,” he had said at a public meeting in Agra.
With PM Modi urging people to stay united, even as Congress and its allies practice divisive politics, the BJP is clearly bringing its focus back on Hindus. The development comes at a time when the NDA partners, in a major shock for the hopeful I.N.D.I. alliance, have been assertive on the Hindutva plank.
After the announcement of Lok Sabha elections in June this year, the I.N.D.I. alliance parties began trumpeting the bandwagon that since the BJP had fallen short of the halfway mark, the ‘secular’ parties in NDA will cause hindrance on their Hindutva plank. However, the ‘secular’ NDA partners – JD(U), Jana Sena and TDP have taken the Hindutva baton onto themselves.
This is reflective in Andra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, raising the issue of adulteration in ‘ladoo prasadm’ in Tirupati temple. The issue, that has hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus, have also been the rallying call for Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan who recently gave clarion call, ‘Varahi Declaration’.
Likewise, in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered to build a grand temple for Mata Sita, wife of Lord Ram, in Punaura, her birthplace. Now with his recent remarks, Modi has advanced the NDA partners, which incidentally has been the BJP’s own core plank, Hindutva which forms the basis for civilizational revival along with development and Nationalism.
