A major revelation in Delhi’s biggest drug bust has exposed the shoddy nexus between the grand old party, Congress, and a drug mafia. As per reports, Tushar Goel, the mastermind of one of the largest drug rackets was not only linked with the Congress party, but also he had been an office bearer of the party’s RTI cell.

Notably, the Delhi Police have recently caught a large consignment of contraband drugs including cocaine and marijuana. The market value of the seized consignment is said to be worth over Rs 5600 crores. As per reports, it has been found out that the mastermind of this drug racket, Tushar Goel, had actively worked for the Congress party. As per an old letter that was released from the letterhead of the Indian Youth Congress, Tushar was appointed as the Chairperson of the Congress party’s RTI Cell in 2022.

According to a report in Aaj Tak, his social media profile also highlighted his association with the Delhi Pradesh Congress and these accounts goes by the name of ‘Dikki Goel’.

During the Police inquiry, the accused mastermind admitted that he was working with the Congress party and had been the Chairperson of the grand old party’s RTI cell in 2022.

BJP launched a scathing attack on the Congress party over the mastermind’s association with the grand old party.

“The direct connection of the official office bearers of Congress with Tushar Goel, the Chief of the RTI Cell of the ‘Indian Youth Congress’, who is accused of such a big drug scandal that directly pushes the youth of the country into drug addiction, shows that if they get even a little power, into what abyss they will push the country,” the translated version of BJP National Spokesperson, Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi statement read.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had arrested 4 persons who were later identified as Tushar Goel, Bharat Jain, Himanshu, and Aurangzeb. The drug bust included over 562 kgs of cocaine and over 40 kgs of Marijuana that were packed in sacks. While some reports claim that the market value of the contraband drug could be Rs 2000 crores, other reports have valued it at Rs 5600 crores. The media reports have dubbed it the biggest drug bust in Delhi.
