Arfa Sherwani’s victim card punctured by Danish Kaneria’s tweet googlies

Danish Kaneria tweet: It’s been almost two weeks since India handed Pakistan a cricket thrashing, and boy, the left liberals are still clutching their pearls like they’ve lost their favorite cricket sweater. But, but, but: they’re not crying as much about the thrashing their cricket team got on the field; it’s the “thrashing off the field” that’s got them all riled up.

You won’t believe it, but The Economist, yes, that’s right, the one with the posh British accent, had the gall to claim that the cricket field is now under the spell of the majoritarian PM Modi. I mean, that’s a joke that’s harder to swallow than a spoonful of cinnamon, even if you’ve had three bottles too many.

But hold on to your hats because the real showstopper in this cricket comedy is the Twitter showdown between Arfa Khanum Sherwani, the poster girl of Indian liberals, and Danish Kaneria, the Pakistani Hindu cricketer. You’d think they were battling it out for a century, not 280 characters.

So, welcome everyone, and join us on board as we understand how Danish took Arfa to the cleaners, tearing apart every bizarre claim of hers to shreds, and how this episode is anyday more entertaining than Tiger Shroff’s ‘Ganpath’ or even the newest episode of Bigg Boss!

“Why don’t you come to Pakistan?”

You can tell India has served Pakistan a colossal defeat when even a 2.5-day national mourning period in the Khan Market circle isn’t enough to contain the drama! It’s like they’re mourning the fall of their ‘aman ka empire’, if there was any.

Arfa Khanum Sherwani, who practices her own “Aatmaram Bhide school of journalism”, couldn’t resist pouring out her heart over the way the Ahmedabad crowd put the Pakistani players in their place. She took her complaints to Twitter, saying, “Deplorable behavior of many cricket fans during World Cup matches makes me feel embarrassed & ashamed as an Indian. This petty, insecure & majoritarian approach towards sports, which was meant to bring people together, is symbolic of the India Modi-RSS have created in the last decade.”

Well, well, well, what’s new in that, you might ask? It’s practically the daily morning ritual of every Indian liberal who seems to have a bone to pick with our dear Bharat.

But hold onto your popcorn because what’s really juicy is how Danish Kaneria responded to the whole charade. In a cheeky dig at Arfa’s unwavering loyalty to Pakistan, Danish Kaneria dropped this bomb of a tweet, “Come to my country Pakistan if you’re feeling ashamed to be an Indian. India doesn’t need people like you. I’m sure many people in India will be happy to sponsor this trip.”

Boy, those classic “Madamji, Main aapko Lahore chhod aaun” jokes just got bloody real! Danish Kaneria basically offered her a one-way ticket to Lahore, and you can bet she won’t be jumping on that flight anytime soon.

“When were you loyal to India?”

Arfa Khanum Sherwani had seemingly missed the memo. Her response to Danish Kaneria’s playful jab was nothing short of dramatic. She exclaimed, “Danish Kaneria has unleashed an online lynch mob on me, and I am trending on Twitter. Sad to see an international cricketer celebrated by fans from different religions turning into a communal troll. Rest assured, I’m not leaving my country for Pakistan or any other place in the world.”

But here’s the thing, she clearly underestimated her sparring partner. Danish Kaneria is not your run-of-the-mill troll to be trifled with. Despite enduring discrimination and severe humiliation due to his roots, Danish stands tall as one of the rare Pakistani cricketers to notch up over 250 wickets in fewer than 75 matches. He’s the real deal.

So, when Arfa tried to play the victim card, Danish Kaneria delivered the knockout punch with a tweet that said, “‘Lynch,’ ‘mob,’ ‘communal,’ ‘religious,’ ‘troll,’ ‘unleashed’! Don’t use these propaganda words for me. Did I talk about communalism in my tweet? No! If you don’t like Pakistan, simply say – ‘Danish, I don’t like Pakistan.’ That’s it!”

But Danish wasn’t done. He wanted to make one thing abundantly clear: this wasn’t about conversion, majoritarianism, Hindus, Indian Muslims, or religion. It was all about one simple thing – loyalty. And Danish Kaneria nailed it with this parting shot, “Just show me a single tweet in which you praised Bharat and its culture.”

Moreover, Danish made it crystal clear that despite enduring severe and inhuman discrimination in Pakistan, his loyalty to his homeland remains unwavering. As for Arfa, well, that’s a different story altogether.

So, folks, the cricket match might be over, but the real match is on Twitter. It’s like a never-ending Bollywood drama with more plot twists than a soap opera. And let’s be honest, it’s far more entertaining than any so-called blockbuster or your glitzy reality TV show out there. Grab your virtual front-row seats and enjoy the show because this Twitter feud is the gift that keeps on giving!
