When the Rajya Sabha turned into a battleground, courtesy of the disruptor-in-chief from the Aam Aadmi Party, Sanjay Singh, Jagdeep did not mince his words. “Can you keep quiet for a moment? It has become your habit to rise and raise a point. I give time, every time,” he thundered, silencing the opposition’s pandemonium.

Jagdeep Dhankhar made it abundantly clear that the Rajya Sabha is not a public street or a platform for unruly behavior. He sternly demanded silence, leaving the opposition with no room to protest. But alas, some habits die hard, and the habitual offender, Sanjay Singh, refused to relent.
In a bold move, Jagdeep took matters into his own hands and suspended Sanjay Singh for the remainder of the monsoon session. It was a clear message to the opposition that their antics would not be tolerated in his domain.

But the opposition seemed to have learned nothing from the incident. Enter veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram, who took a shot at Jagdeep Dhankhar, accusing him of not admitting 50+ motions on Manipur violence. But little did Chidambaram know what was coming his way!

He reminded Chidambaram of his own experience in Parliament in the mid-80s and questioned his claim, “How can you do it?” With a sarcastic twist, Jagdeep highlighted Chidambaram’s tenure in governance for 10 years preceding this incident, making it clear that he was not to be trifled with.
The headmaster’s witty response left Chidambaram stunned, as he tried to howl about the alleged injustice. But Jagdeep was not one to back down. He pointed out that on the issue of Manipur, he had already accepted the notice in accordance with the rules and that the minister had agreed to a discussion.
