New York To Build 22 New Renewable Energy Plants

New York renewable energy sources: Kathy Hochul, the governor of the state of New York has announced plans to construct 22 new solar power plants state-wide in an attempt to further advance the climate goals set out by her party. The governor strongly believes in the potential of solar panels and that the climate in New York is perfect for the cultivation of this renewable energy source

Climate Goals And Power For Housing

The climate goals that Hochul has been referencing in relation to the plans to build these 22 new solar power plants include creating a power grid that will run on zero emissions and be completely clean by the year 2040. The building process of these new power plants will not be an easy or fast job, and the main objective is to benefit future generations.

Hochul stated that once 22 of the new power plants have been erected in the state, over 620 000 households will run completely on clean energy. This will, in turn, solidify New York as one of the cleanest states in the country in terms of power generation. Hochul further believes that pushing through with the plans to build these projects will spur over $2 billion in private investment in the state and will create thousands of jobs.

One of the main processes that must be completed as part of the planning phase is to demarcate vacant land for the building projects. Over 61% of the state of New York is forested, so it is more than likely that the projects will be built in these wooded areas. This means that a process of tree clearing will have to occur. Needless to say, this type of project will require heavy machinery and quality excavator tracks to complete the project efficiently. However, based on the scope and size of the areas needed, this is better left to the professionals. Professional tree clearing services are not massively expensive; tree removal cost varies from state to state, but at the end of the day, the investment is worthwhile because professional services ensure that the surrounding environmental impact is limited and that the ground is left clear and safe.

Plants to Generate Huge Power

One of the most exciting aspects of the plans to create energy from renewable sources is the expert predictions of just how much power 22 new solar panel plants will generate. It’s predicted that the new plants will generate around 4.5 million megawatt-hours of renewable energy annually, which would be enough to provide power for thousands of neighborhoods within the state. This will greatly contribute to the goal of obtaining 70% of power from renewable sources.

This initiative has been touted as the state’s (New York) largest planned project to create renewable energy sources in history. Many private investment firms have already pledged to back the 22 solar plant project plan, showing their support for climate protection and stability. So far, the plans have secured over $86 million in investments. Hochul has stated that through this project, the state of New York is strengthening an already stable renewable energy pipeline, which gives great hope for the future.
