Kerala Story ban: Perfect Balancing, the Chandrachud way!

Kerala Story ban: Oh, how the poor Leftists must be sorely disappointed! They were so hopeful that Uncle Chandrachud would come to their rescue, fulfil their every demand, and miraculously transform India into their coveted “Liberal Paradise.” Alas, Justice Chandrachud had a different plan in mind.

But, before we understand his plan, allow me to offer a few words of consolation to the dear members of the cherished left liberal cabal, who have been tirelessly striving to impose a ban on the movie “The Kerala Story”.

Hello! my dear members of the esteemed left liberal cabal, it is truly disheartening to witness the shattering of your lofty expectations. How unfortunate it is that your faith in a different outcome has been rendered futile. Ah, the world can be a harsh and unforgiving place, can’t it? Such is life!

Now, let’s find out how CJI Chandrachud has left everyone surprised by lifting the ban on “The Kerala Story”, and how the left liberal cabal must be in utter disarray, stumbling over their own words and losing sight of their cherished narratives.

The Kerala Story ban challenged in SC

“The Kerala Story,” skilfully directed by Sudipto Sen, has embarked on a remarkable journey. This film has astounded even the most discerning experts in the realm of box office success, drawing the attention of the entire nation to the grave issue of illegal conversions and its disturbing connection to the ISIS. In case you are not yet acquainted with this fact, allow me to enlighten you: the film has garnered a staggering sum of approximately 165 crores, surpassing its modest budget of 20 to 30 crores. And it now stands poised to join the illustrious 200 crore club, an impressive feat indeed.

#TheKeralaStory maintains a STRONG GRIP… Crosses *Week 1* biz [₹ 81.14 cr] in *6 days* of *Week 2*… Should hit ₹ 200 cr in Weekend 3… [Week 2] Fri 12.35 cr, Sat 19.50 cr, Sun 23.75 cr, Mon 10.30 cr, Tue 9.65 cr, Wed 7.90 cr. Total: ₹ 164.59 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice pic.twitter.com/lrCZN4xZkx

— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) May 18, 2023

But there are certain individuals who, without a shred of shame, advocating for the banning of this film in the most repulsive manner.

Countless theatres in Tamil Nadu, in their infinite wisdom, have reached the pinnacle of stupidity by refusing to grace their screens with the film’s presence. But wait, there’s more! The illustrious Bengal government, in all its glory, has deemed this film a dire threat to the very security of the state and, oh so generously, imposed an absolute ban upon it.

How amusingly ironic it is that these very shameless individuals, who so vocally champion artistic freedom and equality within society, now stand exposed as nothing but the epitome of hypocrisy.

A bolt from the blue for liberals!

Amidst the unfolding events surrounding the film, makers have now sought refuge in the hallowed halls of the Supreme Court. As we are well aware, the law of the land reigns supreme, and true to this principle, the revered Supreme Court has swiftly intervened, diligently restoring order to the tumultuous proceedings.

The Apex Court has rendered its verdict, lifting the ban on this film with resounding impact, dealing a significant blow to the Mamata administration and those aligned with leftist ideologies.

The Supreme Court stayed the West Bengal government's order banning the screening of the film The Kerala Story. Here's is how political parties reacted. #TheKeralaStory #SupremeCourt #WestBengal #MamataBanerjee https://t.co/1DM62nnnmN

In this legal saga, notable legal luminaries such as Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi passionately argued in favour of the state of Bengal, while eminent advocates like Harish Salve fearlessly championed the cause of the public interest and the central government.

Harish Salve, invoking a notable Supreme Court case, vehemently called for the removal of the unwarranted ban imposed on “The Kerala Story.” He argued that if the Mamata government could lift the ban on ‘Bhabishyeter Bhoot’ in 2019, then why should this film be subjected to such restrictions?

In response, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, emphasizing the importance of law and order, contended that the film’s content is misleading and has the potential to sow seeds of anarchy within the state. Additionally, he raised concerns about the impact on minority communities in the region. However, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Chandrachud didn’t seem impressed, and asked, “So should we curb free speech due to the fear of mob?”

The incredible tale of CJI Chandrachud!

Yes, you head that right. The way he took the pro ban activists on the cleaners was a thing to witness. But if one goes by his past record, one thing is for sure: CJI DY Chandrachud is quite the person!

If you scrutinize the matter closely, you will find that the esteemed Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, demonstrated his steadfast commitment to the principle of free speech. Last year, despite substantial evidence against Mohammad Zubair, he granted him bail based on this very principle. Now, let us journey back a few years, where Chandrachud, once again relying on the same basis that secured Zubair’s release, dealt a blow to the Maha Vikas Aghadi by declaring Arnab Goswami’s imprisonment illegal in light of freedom of expression. He further ordered the immediate release of Goswami, compelling the government at that time to comply. Considering his consistent stance on these matters, the present Chief Justice of India becomes an intriguing enigma deserving of in-depth research and analysis.
