This poignant quote, “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely,” finds a haunting embodiment in the current state of Bihar. The once-steadfast pillars of law and order now stand as a mere jest, while the administration, in utter disarray, appears to be grasping at straws to cling onto power. Regrettably, the present leadership has been unwavering in their pursuit of authority, even if it means resorting to unleashing nefarious elements capable of annihilating the very essence of the State.
In this article, Let’s ruminate over the recent release of Anand Mohan singh, a politician with a criminal record, and pondering the hidden agenda behind Nitish Kumar’s actions.
Anand Mohan freed
Recently, notorious criminal Anand Mohan was let out on bail. This was done by reversing the order regarding bail from the state jail manuals, according to which criminals like Anand Mohan had to serve a minimum of 20 years in order to be let out.
But the question arises is who the hell is this Anand Mohan Singh?
In the 90s, when crime and criminals ruled the roost in Bihar, Anand Mohan was another bigshot trying his luck in the state. Using caste as his weapon, Anand Mohan quickly rose through the ranks to become a dreaded mafioso calling the shots in Bihar, where criminals like Mohammad Shahabuddin, Surajbhan Singh, Chhuttan Shukla to name a few already had their own reign of terror.

To understand the distinction of Anand Mohan, we must rewind the clocks back to 1994. It was the year when Chhuttan Shukla, a Bahubali from Muzaffarpur, decided to take the political plunge from the Kesariya constituency. However, he was shot dead before he could even file his nomination papers.
What followed next was beyond anyone’s expectations. Chhuttan Shukla’s supporters flooded the streets of Muzaffarpur, demanding swift justice. The frigid December day of 1994 saw Bihar, particularly Muzaffarpur, plunge into a state of political turmoil and upheaval, with the societal structure appearing to crumble before the law-and-order authorities. Red alerts were announced across North Bihar and the state capital, Patna.
Amidst this chaos, the procession carrying Chhuttan Shukla’s remains was being taken to his village in Vaishali district from Muzaffarpur via NH 28. At the same time, G Krishnaiah, the DM of Gopalganj, was returning from Hajipur in his Ambassador. The moment the enraged crowd spotted his vehicle, they turned their fury towards him.
G Krishnaiah screamed his lungs out to clarify that he was the DM of Gopalganj, and not Muzaffarpur. However, all went in vain as the huge crowd attacked his convoy, and brutally lynched him to death. Recorded testimonials maintain that it was Anand Mohan, who had ordered the attack. Anand Mohan was later arrested from Hajipur for the very act.
The ‘engineering’ only Nitish is best at
For years, Anand Mohan remained behind the bars. However, like most other politicians of Bihar, he continued to contest elections, even when he was imprisoned. Even today, he is considered as one of the most influential faces of the Rajput caste.

So why did “Sushasan Babu” Nitish Kumar wake up now to acknowledge his influence? Recently, the megalomaniac CM had conducted a caste census throughout the state, in order to grasp the demographics better.
As soon as he understood the dynamics, including the fact that Rajputs had a significant say in the Bihari demographics, with a vote share of over 7 percent, Nitish went to what he was best at: ‘social engineering’.
How much more will Bihar endure?
It is hidden from none as to how Bihar has been reduced to ignominy further under the dual administration of Nitish Kumar and Tejaswi Yadav. Now taking the anarchy a notch higher, almost 27 criminals, including Anand Mohan, have been pardoned under the modified Bihar jail manuals.

In a state already reeling under countless murders and scandals, 27 hardened criminals have been left out in the open, just so that some people continue to enjoy the spoils of political power.

Whenever you expect that Nitish can’t stoop lower than this, he takes that as a challenge to himself, and shows his ultimate capability of stooping to any extent to achieve his political goals.
Bihar may go to hell, but Nitish must stay in power. How disgusting?
