Vishwakarma Mandir Ranchi – Guide

89 years old Jharkhand’s only Vishwakarma Mandir was built in 1930 by Vishwakarma Samaj at Vishwakarma Lane, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Ranchi. It is believed that this is Jharkhand’s first Vishwakarma temple. Thousands of new vehicles are worshiped in this temple premises on the day of Vishwakarma Puja.

Along with this, people’s faith is also unwavering towards this temple. Jagadguru Bhagwan Vishwakarma Temple established before independence is a witness to mythological and historical moments.

History of this Temple

In 1928 Saint Moni Baba used to worship here by keeping the photo of Lord Vishwakarma. Then Ranchi Vishwakarma Mandir was built by Vishwakarma Samaj in 1930 and handed over to Moni Baba. During that time the idol was also installed here and since then till today people’s faith is also attached to this temple. People also say that there is no such grand Vishwakarma temple anywhere in Jharkhand. This is the first temple in Jharkhand where worship is done by installing an idol.

Ranchi Vishwakarma Mandir opens at 6:00 AM in the morning and close at 9:00 PM in the evening.

Panch Ghagh Waterfall

Located a little away from the city, Panch Ghagh Waterfall is a favorite of the locals and is quite popular as a picnic spot. The waterfall got its name because five waterfalls can be seen cascading down from here.

Sun Temple

The Sun Temple in Ranchi is a very beautiful temple. Known for its unique architecture. Perched on top of a hill, the temple is constructed in the typical Sun Temple architecture which depicts a huge chariot with 18 wheels, being pulled by seven horses.
