Tamil Nadu migrants: Covering up grave racial or bigoted crimes, using fascist tactics to suppress dissent and control information, and implicating those who highlight such crimes were among the many tactics employed by Soviet despot Joseph Stalin. These same whitewashing tactics are now being used in the misgoverned state of Tamil Nadu by its communist ideologue, M.K. Stalin.
His government and state police are busy rubbing every claim of violent linguistic chauvinism as false, fake, and agenda-driven. As per the administration’s claim, everything is hunky dory in the state and hatred against the Hindi-speaking immigrant community, particularly from Bihar, never existed or exists in the state.
In this extreme divide, one that benefits none except dravidian and casteist politicians, understanding the claims of both sides and differentiating fake news from facts and coverups from real peace, normalcy, and restoring law and order through actions by the police becomes extremely important.
The incorrigible Dravidian hatred for sanity
For the past several months, several videos of violent assault on Hindi-speaking migrants in Tamil Nadu had been doing the rounds on the internet. Despite the immense contribution to the state’s progress, linguistic bigots, with the great patronage of their political masters, had violently assaulted and discriminated against non-native speakers.

Furthermore, vile politicians spewing venom against Hindi speakers added fuel to this insane linguistic chauvinism. With repeated ridiculing statements that trivialised Hindi speakers as Pani Puri sellers and politicians or ‘actors’ who speak ill of the Hindi language, these are the prominent examples that bolstered the confidence of the language mafia in the state.
Now, as per the claims of Bihar migrants returning from Tamil Nadu, Hindi-speaking people are being ill-treated and physically assaulted in Tamil Nadu. Earlier claims were made that many people died in this violent linguistic discrimination; however, the veracity of these claims couldn’t be ascertained and was dubbed false by the state police.
After labelling a few viral videos as unrelated and fake, the Tamil Nadu police had in fact booked a few reporters for making these claims. However, as they say, there is no smoke without fire, several migrants have described their ordeal after returning to the state.
It can’t be denied that the politicians have been using the language divide to flare tensions, embellish their political chances, and hide their gross incompetence, failures, and corrupt practices. No matter how desperately the administration tries to absolve themselves of this gross failure in curbing hate crimes and violent linguistic chauvinism, this has badly impacted the state’s economic future.

Instilling confidence in non-native speakers and migrants from other states is necessary for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to reverse the migrant crisis and save the state’s reputation and economic prosperity. For this reason, taking action against the mafia elements is a no-brainer, and the state government should shun its urge to score political points by jailing those who voice support for the voiceless and oppressed migrants.
