The ancient and historical and famous Kali Mata Mandir, located on the Mall Road of Patiala city, was built in 1936 by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of the princely state of Patiala. Even though he laid the foundation stone of the temple, Maharaja Karm Singh did the work of completing the temple.

In Kali Mata Mandir Patiala, along with Kuldevi Maa Raj Rajeshwari of the princely state of Patiala, a six feet tall idol of Maa Kali Devi ji is installed. At that time the face of the idol of Mata Shri Kali Devi ji was kept outside the city which is towards Barandari Garden. In this temple, the Kuldevi Maa Raj Rajeshwari of the princely state is situated behind Maa Kali Devi.

History of this Temple

The Kali Mata Mandir Patiala of Shri Kali Devi Ji has become about 86 years old. Devotees from not only Patiala city, Punjab but also from all over the country come to pay obeisance here. The idol of Maa Kali Devi ji installed here was specially brought from Calcutta and the flame burning here was brought from Bengal which is still burning continuously.

Kali Mata Mandir Patiala opens at 5:00 AM in the morning and close at 9:00 PM in the evening. Aarti timings are 5:15 AM in morning and 7:15 PM in the evening. You can visit anytime between the timings given below.
