History of this Temple
According to history, many miracles and legends are associated with the statue of Lord Chandraprabhu installed in Jain Mandir Firozabad about three hundred years old. Prior to the settlement of Firozabad, Chandrawad, located on the banks of the Yamuna, used to be the main city. The king Chandrasen here was a follower of Jainism.
It is recorded in history that in the 14th century, when the army of Mughal ruler Muhammad Ghori started destroying the temples while attacking Chandrawad, the king had flown the idol of Lord Chandraprabhu in the Yamuna to save it. Many years after floating the idol, a gardener had a dream that there was an idol of Lord Chandraprabhu in the river Yamuna.
