Asia Economic Dialogue 2023: Pakistan, India’s neighbour, is failing, and the nation’s “politico-military” complex is responsible for it. Whether it’s the army or the political leadership, they are all stuck in the 20th century. The world has changed, and so have its problems. But Pakistan is still grappling with the same issues and problems such as Kashmir and its animosity with India, among others. Almost all nations are fed up with its retrograde amnesia and have left it behind. Now there are questions for the Indian government regarding assistance and S. Jaishankar has a perfect answer to that.
Jaishankar’s advice
The economic conditions in Pakistan are not hidden from the world. During the Asia Economic Dialogue 2023, Indian Foreign Minister, Dr. S Jaishankar was addressing media interactions in Pune. He was asked about India’s stand on economic crisis and possible support for Pakistan.
At Asia Economic Dialogue 2023 He said, “The country must fix its social and political issues. If I plan any scheme or decision for a country, I must think about the people’s perspective too. What they want, they (Pakistan) must think about this. If any country facing a deep economic crisis, not pointing only Pakistan but, other countries too. They must fix their plans and decisions in the favour of people.”

China and IMF smart walk
China has recently announced a $700 million loan to its junior partner Pakistan amidst the economic crisis. Now, one thing becomes clear that Pakistan is not in a condition to repay such a huge amount. The most aspired project that is ongoing in the country is CPEC and that too is under the clutches of China. So, China is eventually breaking the hope for Pakistan’s economic recovery.
The IMF is also negotiating with Pakistan. It asked Pakistan to change some of its internal laws and administrations including the deductions in military spending. By analysing them all, one must think that they are helping Pakistan. While India, on the other hand, is not even supporting the nation.
India upheld sovereignty
But it can be seen from another angle. Actually, Pakistan has always terrorised the subcontinent and especially India. So, India doesn’t need to get involved in its matter unless Pakistan stops its terror industry. In a way India is actually upholding Pakistan’s sovereignty that the countries like China and organisations like IMF have undermined.
