Belon Devi Mandir Bulandshahr – Guide

Belon Devi Mandir Bulandshahr is an ancient Hindu Shakti temple located in Belon village near Narora town in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is about 5 km from Narora town and about 60 km from the industrial city of Aligarh. This temple is dedicated to Sri Sarva Mangala Belan Bhavani. It is known that the goddess Belon appeared from the ground. She originated from the body of Goddess Sati in ancient times.

History of this Temple

Belon Devi Mandir Bulandshahr was built by Rao Bhup Singh. The exact period of temple construction is unknown. It is said that once Goddess Sarva Mangala Devi appeared in his dream. The goddess ordered him to recover her idol which was buried under the ground and a temple was constructed. By the next morning, Rao Bhup Singh had forgotten the exact spot where the idol was buried.

On the advice of a priest, he performed Satchandi Havan. That night, the goddess appeared in his dream and told him about the place where the idol was buried. The next morning, workers began digging up the place. They found the idol but could not remove it from the place as the leg of the idol was inaccessible. Devi told Rao Bhoop Singh that she had one foot in Nathdwar, so he should build a temple at this place.
