Dr S Jaishankar junks Pakistan’s crap into the box
Share on FacebookShare on X

In 1947, as the British colonialists decided to leave their colony, the region was divided into two nations. The first was India, that held the cultural and civilisational ethos of Bharatvarsha, and another was Pakistan, whose basis of formation was religion.

Fast forward to 2022, India has grown to be the fifth largest economy, while Pakistan is still relying on the alms thrown at it by its masters in the Middle East and the West. Pakistan invests all that it has into sponsoring cross border terrorism against India. Not only this, the nation has also been a safe haven for terrorists and radicalised military groups and has been acting as the launch pad for them.

Pakistan’s shamelessness on a global stage

Pakistan stands no ground on the global stage. This is the reality of that nation. However, reality has not set in among the political class of Pakistan and this was recently visible at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting.

Pakistan has been ruled by the military establishment since decades. However, there still exists a PM, his cabinet, basically a civilian government. Laughable, I know. So, the Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was at the UNSC where he reiterated the same ‘Kashmir tune’. Zardari urged the council to implement its resolutions on the Kashmir issue, saying that it has been left unaddressed for long.

The Pakistani foreign minister held the UNSC responsible for maintaining international peace and security.

Jaishankar’s scathing attack at UNSC meeting

Zardari, like every other spokesperson of Pakistan has raked up the issue of Kashmir, in the veil of discussing multilateralism. Further, Zardari took up the issue under India’s December Presidency, only to get slammed at UNSC meeting by India’s external affairs minister Dr Jaishankar.

India strongly hit back at Pakistan, asserting that a country that hosted slain Al Qaeda terrorist Osama Bin Laden and attacked a neighbouring Parliament does not have the credentials to “sermonise” at the security council.

It was eighteen years ago on December 13, that terrorists of Pakistan based Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) attacked the Indian Parliament and Laden was behind the 9/11 attacks and was eliminated by America in Pakistan’s Abbottabad.

— Dr. S. Jaishankar (Modi Ka Parivar) (@DrSJaishankar) December 14, 2022

Jaishankar did not even spare Beijing, the protector of Pakistan on the global stage. Jaishankar said, “On the challenge of terrorism, even as the world is coming together with a more collective response, multilateral platforms are being misused to justify and protect perpetrators.”

Jaishankar said that UN’s credibility depends on its effective response to the key challenges of the current times, as of pandemic, climate change, conflict or terrorism.

India is currently presiding over the UN Security Council open debate on ‘Maintenance of International Peace and Security: New Orientation for Reformed Multilateralism’.

The infamous Pakistan-China terrorism nexus

China has been a financial partner of Pakistan, or it can be said that Beijing has been investing in Pakistan and using it to increase its hold in Asia, CPEC being a prime example. On the terrorism front as well, China had taken up the role of protecting Pakistan. In the recent times, China has placed holds and blocks on bids by India and the US on many occasions to blacklist Pak-based terrorists like Masood Azhar.

While Pakistan and China have been in the nexus of terrorism, India has emerged as a substantiable and credible partner towards a stable world order. Pakistan and China are often seen as the risk to peace in the region. Pakistan’s veil is up and is now been exposed as a clear aggressor and a dangerous risk to peace in the region.

Pakistan has been a difficult and a disruptive neighbour. However, the Indian foreign minister Dr Jaishankar has been slamming it with ‘elan’.
