Somy Ali Salman Khan controversy: In the 1990s, Salman Khan represented a change. When he burst onto the scene, Bollywood fans were bored of masala and irealistic action dramas. Both heroes and villains had become predictable and impacts of Hindi cinema among the masses were all set into the slumber. Romantic movies also contained certain types of flavours. Public was bored of watching same faces in different stories over and over again and people wanted to see old wine in new bottles.
Mega romantic star
Salman Khan gave them a new perspective. With his charming smile, flexible dance moves coupled with the action hero physique he drew instant applause. In his very first movie Maine Pyar Kiya, Salman Khan’s chemistry with Bhagyashree was widely admired. He instantly became the romantic boy next door in Hindi Cinema and soon a household name among Indian masses. Throughout the next decades and more, Salman seemed to be the perfect replacement for superstars like Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Rishi Kapoor and actors of such with charismatic charms among others.

His movies like Ham Aapke Hain Kaun, Karan Arjun, Andaz Apna Apna, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Tere Naam captured youth’s hearts in an unforeseen sense of word. No matter which heroine was on the movie set, Salman seemed to be the perfect romantic match for her. Aligning with Salman Khan in a romantic movie became the key to success for new actresses wishing to reach new heights in the industry.
Personal life filled with ugliness
Salman had seen this level of stardom before. Coming from a filmy background, these things were normal for him. He largely remained unfazed by all this on a personal level. He knew it well that the industry is filled with such adventurism and Salman had done it all in his life.
In world of silver screens, the chocolaty boy, protagonist of many mega hits was always seen playing positive and ideal roles. But, Alas! the protagonist couldn’t carry the aura of a gentleman in his personal life. The stories emanating from the corridors of Bollywood give us a 180 degree description of the very man called Salman Khan. To put it roughly, Salman Khan has many controversies to his name.

Connections with the crime world
His connections with Dawood Ibrahim are an open secret for the people of Bollywood. His movie Chori-Chori Chupke-Chupke is said to have been indirectly financed by the D-Company. The talks about his connection with Dawood got more credence when he openly came in defence of Yakub Menon, the 1993 bomb blast convict. After massive protests and rebuke from his father, Khan withdrew his tweets and apologised.
Subtle support to terrorist was not new in Salman Khan’s life. In 2010, he criticised the castigation of 26/11 on a Pakistani channel. According to Salman, people spoke about 26/11 only because elites were killed in it and not common people. It was a blatant hypocrisy on the part of Salman. He is the one who is widely known as the one who killed a person sleeping on the road in rash driving. The case is still pending in the Supreme Court, while the kidnapping and eventual death of prime witness Ravindra Patil is still a mystery. Apart from this, he is also a convict in the Chinkara hunting case.
Abusive boyfriend
Salman is well-known as an “all or nothing” guy in the industry. He gives it all for his friends and does not hesitate in snatching every ounce of dignity from his foes. No one knows it better than his former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya has admitted that she was in an abusive relationship with Salman Khan. Rai has confessed that he even man handeled her. In the year 2006, his leaked tapes of phone call with Aishwarya Rai made headlines like never before. It became the talk of the town in an era where people did not have social media platforms like that of twitter or facebook or Instagram.
There may be many others like Aishwarya in the industry. One of them, Somy Ali, who has now come up with a sensational revelation. According to her testimony, Salman physically abused her by burning her with cigarettes and other kinds of violent tactics. Somy Ali also took to task those actors and actresses who support Salman and leave no stone unturned in calling him a man with golden heart. Later, she took the post down, but not before it became viral.
Many actors in Bollywood have been controversy’s favourite child. But Salman Khan is a totally different case. Rather than acting in accordance with the name of his compassionate organisation, ‘Being Human’, his misdemeanors have been besmirching the very name.
