Rahul Gandhi Rally: People often do extreme things out of desperation. The sheer act of desperation of Congress can be seen from the fact that the party’s face, Mr. Rahul Gandhi had to ditch his “Bharat Jodo Yatra” midway to join the Gujarat election campaign. However, it does not seem to be promising for the congress party.
Divide and Rule – An old tactics
On 21st November, Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally at tribal-dominated Mahuva. He did it in his signature style which is nothing but gibberish.
He said, “You are the first owner of the country.”
He accused that the government is taking away the land of poor “Adivasis” and giving it to industrialists. He added that the current government policies are creating “2 Indias” that is, of selected billionaires and the poor.
He alleged that the BJP government doesn’t want children of Vanvasis to have better future.
He said, “They (BJP) call you ‘vanvasi’ (forest dwellers). They do not say you are the first owners of India, but that you live in the jungles. Do you see the difference? It means they do not want you to live in cities, see your children becoming engineers, doctors, learn to fly planes, speak English.”
Further, in Rally Rahul Gandhi accused that within no time, few industrialists will exploit all the resources and displace them from the forests.
He added, “They want you to live in the jungles, but do not stop there. After that, they start taking away the jungles from you. If it continues like this, then in another 5 to 10 years, all the jungles will be in the hands of 2 to 3 industrialists, and you will have no place to live, get no education, health and job.”
In the process of opposing the government, Congress began opposing the moral values of the nation. These types of remarks are similar to the bogus Aryan Invasion Theory. The Marxist distorians made a sinister claim that Aryans invaded India and committed atrocities on the native people (the first owners of the land).

Stark difference in politics
On one hand PM Modi is making the ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ with the aim to unite the North and South in his ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ vision. On other side Rahul Gandhi has been making controversial remarks that may create animosity between communities and divide Hindus on the caste lines.
While accusing the government of being anti-tribal and anti-poor, the Congress leader forgot the welfare schemes and its success in last mile connectivity. For example, after 2014, PM Modi has launched many schemes for the poor, middle-class and the vulnerable sections of society be it the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana among others. As a responsible opposition party, Congress should refrain from retarded politics that may create a divide in the society on the lines of natives or foreigners, caste or religion or region (Aryan-Dravidian).
It seems that such remarks are nothing but his frustration after the failed foot-march. Reportedly, the Congress party is spending crores each day but have not received the response they were looking for.
On several other occasions, Rahul Gandhi has given statements that are out of context. But this time it looks like his speech writer was Vir Das, a stand-up comedian. He had to face massive backlash by the public at large for his derogatory remarks of “2 Indias.”
