In a bunch of mediocre sycophants writing for cringe worthy directors, finding gripping dialogues are as difficult as finding a needle in the haystack. Director Neeraj Pandey comes with another power packed series
Recently, OTT giant Netflix has announced a new web series – ‘Khaki – The Bihar Chapter’. The official trailer was launched on 4th of November. The series will be airing on the platform from 25th of November.
Dialogues like – “Power doesn’t corrupt people, people corrupt power” will be etched in the memory of viewers for a long time.

The web series will focus on the jungle raj of Bihar, in particular, the criminals of Sheikhpura region. IPS officer Amit Lodha had also mentioned this in his book ‘Bihar Diaries’.
The trailer gives a clear indication that it will be another masterpiece from the acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey. Though he was born in Kolkata, but he belongs to Ara district of Bihar. This clearly reflects that his first-hand experience of those times will come handy. Viewers can expect near to real representation of Jungle Raj in Bihar.
Cinematic legacy of Neeraj Pandey
For the unversed, Neeraj Pandey is a rare breed of directors whose entire focus remains on story line. His debut film, ‘A Wednesday’ released in 2008, clearly highlights his conviction with which he directs the film. Standing out of the league, the movie had no item song, which was almost a necessity back then. But what a gem of a movie it came out to be and it was a great hit.
He spent the next 5 years establishing himself in the film industry. In the meantime, he invested in a Marathi film. In 2013, he surprised everyone with the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Special 26’. It was a risky bet at that time as Akshay was giving back-to-back flops and his last success was ‘Rowdy Rathore’. The film not only became a success but it forgot a friendship between him and Akshay Kumar. The duo then gave iconic films like ‘Baby’ and ‘Rustom’.

Apart from Akshay, he also made a great fortune for other actors like Sushant Singh Rajput. Neeraj Pandey directed MS Dhoni – The Untold Story which gave enormous fame to the actor.
It is not that Neeraj Pandey didn’t suffer any setback at the box office. ‘Aiyaary’ was one of his exceptional works that didn’t click among the audiences. The movie failed for experimenting too much which badly affected the story line. He also suffered financial setback with the Hindi remake of ‘Vikram Vedha’ being the producer of the movie.
But Neeraj Pandey is not the one who will halt after a few failures. After the failure, he made web series like ‘Special Ops’ which is a must watch series.
Upcoming projects
Currently, he is working on an unannounced project in which Ajay Devgn will be in lead role. It is expected to be released in June, 2023.
Additionally, he and Ajay Devgn, are also working to make a movie on the life of Acharya Chanakya. This movie will be a revolution in the Hindi film industry.
If more directors or domain leaders like Neeraj Pandey are given the space and resources they need, Bollywood might be able to thrive the onslaught of content driven cinema from regional players.
