Drishyam 2 Review – All it takes is a smart decision

Drishyam 2 Movie Review: Bollywood is down and out. Nearly 90% of the mega budget bollywood movies released this year have proven to be a monumental disaster. Bollywood has gradually become notorious for picking a masterpiece and making a mess out of it. Yes, you guessed it right. We are talking about Bollywood’s repeated habit of making a remake. They disappoint audiences big time with their agenda driven adulterations. Let’s talk about the spoiler free genuine review of Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 movie.

Can Ajay Devgn give Bollywood a superhit it badly needs?

The aforementioned negative remarks are some of the toned-down versions of people’s feedback about Bollywood. Several superstars faced the wrath of disgruntled audiences. Many of them sensed their inevitable failure and postponed their theatrical releases.

But, Oh boy!!! Then comes Ajay Devgn as Bollywood’s Knight in shining armour. With Drishyam 2, he has set the stage ablaze and demonstrated how a masterpiece can be surpassed with conviction and gripping story line.

Don’t be afraid, we will not play spoilsport and give away spoilers. It is a completely spoiler free review and we won’t divulge the plot line other than already known through the trailer.

Right from the time of its trailer, it created a strong buzz in its favour. The nicely cut trailer invoked all the key emotions within the audience to pull them towards the big screen. It was a given from the outset that the movie was a remake and would be judged with its original film with the same name. The movie had a tough task ahead of it as Mohan Lal has pulled one of his best performances in the original Malayalam film.

But it has to be accepted that Ajay Devgn and the whole Drishyam 2 team has even surpassed the original masterpiece and has created a legacy for itself.

Drishyam 2 Review- The movie strikes all the right chords

The movie starts with a bang and presents a nice blend of recap with the powerful lyrical song ‘Drishyam’. The first half of the film ends in the blink of an eye. Perhaps, time relativity.

Without raising his voice or acting rash, Akshaye Khanna raises the tension and temperature. He literally dominates the middle phase of the movie and his snide commentary about ‘Law abiding citizens’ and ‘Jasmine flowers’ etc are examples where the IG ( Aksahye Khanna) increases the stress level for the Salgaonkar family and the audiences.

Then there is this ‘Chauthi pass Cablewala’ Vijay Salgaonkar with his meticulous planning. There is no rival to Ajay Devgn when it comes to making the eyes do the talking. His serious demeanour and intense acting keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

The brilliant acting performances raise the bar with every character having its peak moment be it Sourabh Shukla, Tabu or Shreya Saran.

Gripping and Impactful dialogues

The dialogues kick way above their weight for two particular reasons. First, they don’t waiver from the main plot and have been nicely placed. Second, they have been delivered with a picture-perfect timing.

For example, Gaitonde’s dialogue – Sigh, ‘Why do Bhagwan favour evil guys’ cracks a wide smile on everyone’s face sitting in the theatres. As it was a bit too rich coming from him.

There are several key moments where it looks that Vijay Salgaonkar and his family will falter and blurt out the secret about the murder mystery. But, BUT… then comes the twists and turns. The final twist leaves the audiences awestruck, with simple yet powerful logical ending, the film ends by hinting at a sequel, Drishyam 3.

Collection figures

Apart from the Drishyam 2 movie Review let’s discuss about its opening day collections too vindicate the audience’s love for the movie. Its 1st day collection has surpassed Ajay Devgn’s earlier masterpiece Tanhaji. This is when Drishyam 2 got relatively lesser screens as compared to Tanhaji. Tanhaji was released on 3880 screens while Drishyam 2 was released on 3,302 screens.

The movie avoids over dramatization and fairy tale endings. It has tried to be as logical as a movie can be. This heavily plays in favour of the movie and everything hints that it can be the biggest blockbuster of the year. It won’t be a surprise if Ajay Devgn is bestowed with yet another National Award for his brilliant performance.
