Taran Adarsh is in destruction mode – A look at his recent ratings for big-ticket Bollywood movies

Taran Adarsh

It seems that the happy run for Bollywood has ended. Even the most loyal ones are showing signs of discontent with the cliche and rhetorical propaganda Bollywood pedals. The insider and outsider camp broke the industry into two clear halves. This was the biggest blow that destroyed the Entertainment industry. It has not recovered since then. The Boycott trends have added to the misery and has caused a nervous breakdown in the elite cabal. However, the new revolt brewing from within the loyal Bollywood camp will be the last nail that will completely bring the Bollywood down to its knees. Within no time, it will have to work as per the feedback of the audiences to sustain itself or perish.

Taran Adarsh – dismantling the Bollywood Empire brick by brick

There was a time when just like many Bollywood critics and reviewers, Taran Adarsh was sympathetic to the Bollywood cabal and cosied up with the insider camp. Even pathetic movies attracted unwarranted praises from him. Directionless movies with aeon old plotline and horrible acting which were in fact harshly rejected by the audiences, got blind praises from the loyal Bollywood reviewers including trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The tweet highlights how he in the past went overboard to heap praises on crappy movies like Satyamev Jayate2, Panipat, Coolie No1, Baaghi3 and Judwaa2 among others.

However, off late, the acclaimed trade analyst Taran Adarsh has gradually started to bash big-ticket Bollywood movies. This probable change of heart or calling spade a spade started with a critical review of Jayeshbhai Jordaar. He called out the weak storyline and gave a dismal rating to the tardy movie.

He busted the hefty advertised PR campaign going on around the Ranbir-starrer movie Shamshera. He drew the movie’s parallel to Thugs of Hindostan to highlight how miserable Shamshera is. He in fact termed it an UNBEARABLE movie.

Aamir Khan tried to ferry his dwindling boat by making a Hindi remake of the acclaimed Oscar winning Hollywood movie Forrest Gump. The boycott trends punctured all the propaganda and buzz around the so-called hard work put in to make the remake of that masterpiece. The Bollywood cabal used its influence or even deep pockets, yet it could not muster favourable reviews for itself. Taran Adarsh led this charge and called the movie disappointing. This added more worries to Aamir Khan and his crew than they could handle. The colours of Laal Singh Chaddha faded quickly and it proved to be a monumental disaster.

Clear warning to actors riding on high horses

The Boycott trend actually works against shitty Bollywood movies and there is no doubt about it. But several Bollywood stars drunk on arrogance started targeting audiences for giving such clarion calls rather than introspecting on where they are going wrong. The so-called actor Arjun Kapoor went on to threaten the audiences. He stressed that Bollywood’s silence was misconstrued as a weakness and something has to be done about it.

Taran Adarsh had a crisp response to this arrogant verbal diarrhoea. He made a glaring tweet stressing that Bollywood should stop living in denial. He mentioned Laal Singh Chaddha to clearly demonstrate the severe impact of boycott trends on Box office numbers.

Moreover, he highlighted that a heavy PR campaign can’t ensure the success of any movie and only content will garner public support.

Similarly, he went on to bash Liger’s direction and casting crew for wasting resources on an outdated storyline.

He didn’t spare Ranbir Kapoor’s over glorified VFX heavy Brahmastra. He termed it a king-size disappointment. He also gave a tight slap to all those going gaga on the VFX. He rightfully described Brahmastra as All gloss and No Soul which reminds of the old saying that all that glitters is not gold.

As per his last several reviews and tweets, he seems to have opened a new front against the Bollywood’s elites and insider camp. Either he has analysed the changing mindset of the audiences and has synched with the pulse of the audiences or has seen enough Bollywood propaganda and wants to change this trend for the betterment of Hindi Cinema. Whatever may be the reason for his changed analysis about big-ticket Bollywood movies, he is turning into a new KRK for Bollywood cabal and has activated a beast mode against shitty Bollywood movies.
