Change is the only constant and those who fail to adapt to the changed realities perish. Whenever it seems that the Bollywood cabal is course correcting, they give air to needless controversies which badly backfires on them. It appears as if they live in some alternate reality. They sermonise while living in a fool’s paradise which is cut off from ground realities. The recent hits and flops clearly demonstrate that content is the king and star-driven propaganda or mass-masala-cliche (typical Bollywood films) stories fall flat at the box office. Amid all of this, a new release, Brahmastra, is around the corner yet it has been caught in a storm of totally avoidable controversies.
Money flowing like water in PR of Brahmastra
Fearing the Boycott trend, Bollywood has gone on a spree of PR campaigns to project Brahmastra as a blockbuster even before its official release which is scheduled on 9th of September. All the Bollywood-linked media portals are predicting a bumper opening which as per their intellect may surpass the opening week revenue of RRR or any other blockbuster movie released in 2022. Some of them have predicted that the movie may click around Rs 20-25 crore on its opening day.

However, it is important to note that the movie has not created great buzz on single screens which decide the fate of any movie. Moreover, audiences have seen through the veil of these bollywood linked PR pieces. They have shown that content is the king. So, if the Brahmastra plot line has some freshness without any demeaning thing about Hinduism or any other propaganda, only then it would be able to achieve a gigantic task of achieving a break even point.
Evidently, ‘Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva’ is made with a humongous budget of Rs 410 crores. So, it has to clock at least 20-25% of its budget, within its opening week to make an impact on the theatre screens. However, to say that it will be the greatest gross of Indian cinematic history would be too early to say or is possible only if such pliable article pieces being widely circulated create an artificial buzz for the movie.
But, Bollywood cabal should realise that pumping insane amounts of money in PR will not ensure a success rather than content as was demonstrated by The Kashmir Files as well as the recent release Karthikeya – with Bhagwan Krishna as central theme.

Additionally, it has to stop its staff’s verbal diarrhoea who are needlessly poking boycott groups levelling them trolls and what not. Its star cast as well are adding insult to injury for the movie producing team. They seem adamant to tank the movie with their arrogant statements. However, as we have explained that the concept on which Brahmastra is based is illogical and there is a high chance that people will not need to boycott it at all. It will fail due to its own weight of stupidity and Bollywood cabal’s habit of shooting themselves in their foot.
