Have you ever heard any fairy tale in which a mighty warrior prince comes to rescue the hapless? Don’t you worry if you have not heard it so far. You can witness it now, as the same seems to be playing out in reality for the grand old party, Congress. However, the only thing is that it’s supposed warrior prince is taking too much time in “coming of age”.
The party’s Yuvraj has failed miserably to live up to the fascinating story multiple times. Yet, it seems that the indebted party has decided to give him one more life line. Will the story get a happy ending this time or take a humiliating turn as usual, is yet to be seen. So, let’s analyse the team that has the Himalayan task of reviving the dead-Congress.
Rahul Gandhi’s leadership is “unparalleled”
At a time when the Congress has been rocked by a spree of resignations, all eyes are hooked to just one man, that is, Rahul Gandhi, for the umpteenth time. Yet again, Congress leaders are pinning all their hopes on him. They are hoping against hope to see a miracle happen. Anyhow, they want that the reluctant politician Rahul Gandhi accepts the crown of thorns again, forgetting the past miseries and humiliation.

Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition, M Mallikarjun Kharge has spelled out the sorry state of affairs of the Congress party and its leaders.
The party yes-man, Kharge, went to shatter every record in sycophancy. He stressed that there’s nobody more worthy than Rahul Gandhi to charge the Congress against BJP-RSS. He claimed that the Party President should be someone who has pan-India recognition and acceptance within the party, but sadly there is none who matches the stature of Rahul ji. Kharge emphasised that no matter what it takes, the Party leaders will do anything to make him party president again. It may include forcing Yuvraj Rahul ji to be the captain of the directionless mother-ship of Congress.
He said, “We will ask him, we will force him and request him (to return as Congress President). We stand behind him. We will try to pursue him”.
However, it is important to note that as per many ex-congress leaders, the party has been hijacked by “sycophants” and “clique coterie” of Rahul Gandhi. Allegedly the party is being remote controlled by Security guards and PAs of Rahul baba.
Team Rahul
Veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad in his parting letter hinted that the Congress party is being run by security guards and PAs of Rahul ji. So, it becomes important to know who these supposed Congress strategists are and their claim to fame.
As per a report in The week, Team Rahul includes P.K. Byju, Kaushal Vidyarthee, Sachin Rao and Alankar Sawai.
P.K Byju quit the Special Protection Group (SPG) in 2010. Since then he has been associated with Rahul Gandhi. He is the in-charge of Rahul’s security and logistic arrangement.

Kaushal Vidyarthee is a product of Ivy League. He did his M.Phil in Development Studies from Oxford. He looks after Gandhi’s appointments, daily engagements and also accompanies him on trips.
Third influential person in team Rahul is Sachin Rao. He is another product of Ivy League mentality. He did his MBA in Corporate Strategy and International Business from Michigan B School. He is the AICC-in-charge of the training department of Congress and party’s mouthpiece Sandesh.
Alankar Sawai, a former banker, heads the Research team for Rahul Gandhi. In the past, he managed his twitter account as well.

These are claimed to be the main members of Team Rahul. Allegedly, they influence the thinking of Rahul Gandhi. It’s no wonder why Congress has been so cut off from the ground reality. It was always alleged that the party strategist suffers from some kind of clique mentality, who claims to have the entire world’s knowledge with them, and is not open to feedback mechanisms.
It is beyond comprehension that Congress thinks it can be revived with all these tried-tested-failed strategies. It looks as if the Congress has taken upon itself to complete PM Modi’s vision of Congress Mukt Bharat. It seems that Congress is racing ahead of BJP when it comes to tarnish or humiliate itself. Congress’ ability to shoot itself in the foot is unparalleled.
It is time for the party to come out of fantasy stories and look beyond the liabilities (Gandhis) to revive the party. Otherwise, Congress will have nobody else but itself to blame for its obliteration. The reluctant Politician can be Prince in Fairy tales but not in real politics. Politics is not a game or a fairy tale. It is a tool to fulfil people’s aspirations.
