On July 11, 1971, B. Narsayya and B. Sakuntala welcomed a son named Bandi. At Sri Saraswathi Shishumandir Unnata Paathashaala in Karimnagar, he finished his secondary education in 1986. At the age of twelve, Bandi joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and became involved with it.
Bandi Sanjay won the 2019 election by a margin of 89,508 votes, riding a wave of support for the BJP and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi that reached as far as Telangana. Due to the BJP’s historical lack of power in Telangana and the fact that both of his main opponents were seasoned politicians, his election was seen as somewhat of a surprise.
