Laal Singh Chaddha has flopped! Is this the final victory?

Aamir Khan whose name was enough to attract cinemagoers to the theatres was forced to beg the audience to watch his film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. But, his apologies too didn’t work. Consequently, the movie has turned out to be one of the biggest flops of his career as it failed to cross even the ₹ 50 crore mark after four days of its release. These collections are an indication that the movie is a colossal disaster. But is this the final victory?

What crashed Aamir’s plane?

Since it was already declared by movie buffs that the film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ will fall flat at the box office, the fate of the film has always been hanging by a thread. Apparently, statements passed by Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the past led to #boycottlaalsinghchaddha gaining momentum on social media.

Aamir Khan’s meeting with Turkey’s First Lady Erdogan added fuel to the fire that triggered off a massive backlash against him. While the star cast of the film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ was already receiving flak, its scriptwriter too came into the limelight for all the wrong reasons.

His tweet from 2013 became another reason for the netizens to boycott the film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. He had tweeted, “I am sure the religious groups must be against atheism. So what’s next? A petition to criminalise atheists?! I’ll be in jail soon!!!”

Simply put, no matter how much cinema experts blame the quality of the film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ to explain its doom, it’s obvious that the boycott worked and crashed Aamir’s plane.

Is it the final victory?

People are celebrating the loss of Laal Singh Chaddha. They are claiming it as a victory. But it’s time for introspection. It’s time for us to ask ourselves have we won? Can it be claimed as a civilisational victory?

Well, for your disappointment, the answer is no. in fact, victory is not even in sight. Cinema plays an important role in information dissemination. While many believe that it is only an entertainment platform, they tend to forget that it is also an educational medium for people who are not a fan of documentaries. This is the reason propaganda movies like Parzania and Raees are believed to be the mirror of society.

Thus, teaching the entertainment industry a lesson is a good step, and taking them down is a good step to begin.

How can we claim the victory?

In order to claim Civilisational victory, following objectives must be met.

There are 4 Vedas, 14 Upanishads, 2 epics, 18 Puranas and 14 years (the formative years) to impart all or some wisdom to kids. It’s not difficult at all.

You must train your mind and your muscles too. You must have facts ready to take down in case of a verbal duel and if someone manages to knock your door, you should be capable enough to knock them down. This is not call to arms but Aatmaraksha which is a dharmic kritya (one’s duty). Tanking a movie by a proven propagandist is a good step but just a step in a stairway of thousands of steps. Real victory lies in reclaiming everything that was once the glory of Bharat.
