An entire fake Police station right under the nose of Nitish Kumar

It is alleged that Bihar is becoming a den of criminals and mafias. Media reports suggest that the Jungle Raj is again cropping its head in the state. However, all these reports and allegations are half truth. The real fact is that there was nothing like Sushashan in Bihar for at least the past three decades. Apparently, the level of rot in the state was such that criminals managed to steal a 60-ft long iron bridge. However, with a real life implementation of “Special 26”, the state has shattered all its previous shameful records in terms of Jungle Raj.

The real life “Special 26”

It is rightfully said that sometimes reality can be scarier than fiction. Evidently, Bihar has witnessed a shocking case on the lines of movie ‘Special 26’. Reportedly, Bihar Police in Banka district busted an imposter gang that ran a fake police station.

As per a media report, the fraudsters carried out their illegal acts in the close vicinity of a real Police station. They operated from a guest house that was nearly 500 metres from the actual police station. The accused extorted poor for a good eight long months. They conned hundreds of innocent people who came to register FIR or ask for other help relating to government run schemes.

The fraudster group got busted

Their theatrics was called off when an actual team of Police officials noticed a woman and a man donning the uniform of Bihar Police. The team led by SHO Shambhu Yadav found many things suspicious with the imposter duo. The duo was then questioned and eventually shed light on this fake police racket. They were later identified as Anita Devi Murmu and Aakash Kumar Manjhi.

During interrogation, they sang like canary and gave the intel on other members of the racket. The police later arrested three more accused in the case. They were identified as Ramesh Kumar, Wakil Kumar, and Julie Kumar Manjhi. The mastermind of this fake Police racket was identified as Bhola Yadav from Fullidumar, who is still on the loose.

Anita and Akash claimed that they bribed Bhola to get a job in Bihar Police. The accused mastermind brought them to Banka and gave them an office-like environment in a private guest house. He claimed that they had been recruited by the police department.

The Superintendent of Police, Dr Satya Prakash said that fake government documents, uniform batches, and other items were confiscated from the guest house, where the gang ran their fake Police station.

Upon further investigation, an unlicensed, country-made pistol was also found in their possession.

It is disheartening to see that this sorry state of affairs in Bihar is continuing painfully. The fake Police station was hard to beat yet this was upped a notch in the new Nitish Kumar government. A kidnapping accused was rewarded generously and made a law minister.

The past, present and future of Bihar, a state that was once the cradle of civilisational development seems to be full of darkness with no light at the end of the tunnel.
