Main takeaways from BJP’s National Executive Meet at Bhagyanagar

Bhagyanagar

BJP has become the central pillar of Indian politics. It has risen from a two member party to the largest political party in the world. One of the reasons for BJP’s success is its tradition to conduct regular meetings for deliberation. In its national level meet, it focuses on strategising, planning and ways to execute the ideas discussed in the meeting. Carrying on with this successful tradition, BJP held a two-day National Executive meet at Bhagyanagar. The meeting concluded with the speech of PM Narendra Modi. So, let’s analyse in detail what issues were discussed in it, and what are the key highlights of this meeting.

Bhagyanagar

First of all, the venue of the meeting itself holds great political significance. Telangana is witnessing a surge of the saffron party, BJP. It is making the ruling party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) jittery. TRS President and state CM K Chandrashekar Rao has been making provocative statements against BJP, its policies and PM Modi. By holding the meeting in the state capital, Hyderabad, BJP has made its intentions clear. It wants to form a government in Telangana, in the next assembly elections, scheduled in December 2023.

There has been a widespread demand to rename Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar. BJP too has been vocal in raising this demand. So, the force behind this demand was amplified when PM Modi, in his speech, twice referred to Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar.

Secondly, UP CM Yogi Adityanath took the blessings of the Goddess Bhagyalakshmi. He performed aarti in the Bhagyalakshmi Mandir in Charminar. Unlike other parties, BJP doesn’t hesitate to wear Hinduism on its sleeves. Along with its development models, it also emphasises on cultural and civilisational rejuvenation.

Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas

PM Narendra Modi spoke about various political parties that are struggling for their existence. He cautioned the party leaders to not ridicule or mock other parties that are in “terminal decline”. He asked everyone to seek learning out of the failures of those parties and advised not to repeat acts which led to their downfall. Speaking to media persons, Former Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad informed about the statements made by PM Modi in the meeting.

BJP stalwart RS Prasad said, “PM Modi said that Hyderabad is Bhagyanagar which is significant for all of us. Sardar Patel kept the foundation of a unified India and now it’s BJP’s responsibility to carry it further”.

Former Minister RS Prasad further added that PM Modi lauded the expansion of the party. The PM appreciated the efforts of the party karyakartas, especially in states where it is in opposition and workers are facing hardships. The PM also stressed that the party’s aim should be to change the thought process from “tushtikaran” (appeasement) to “triptikaran” (fulfilment). PM Modi also stressed on “P2 to G2” (Pro-People to good governance) in BJP’s political and governance model.

Sources said that the PM also suggested that karyakartas should reach out to deprived and downtrodden sections among the minorities too. He made this suggestion, in his intervention during presentation of BJP’s recent win in Lok Sabha by-polls in Muslim dominated SP ‘bastions’, Rampur and Azamgarh. Sources claim that the party aims to reach out to Pasmanda Muslims.

PM Modi also lauded the NDA’s Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu and asked party workers to spread information about her struggles and life journey, among the general masses.

Amit Shah’s bold statement

Union Home Minister Amit Shah moved the political resolution in the National Executive meeting. He said, “dynastic politics, casteism and politics of appeasement were the greatest sins and the reason behind the country’s sufferings over the years.” He also praised the SC verdict that finally ended the malicious campaign against PM Narendra Modi, for framing him in the 2002 Gujarat riots. He lauded PM Modi and went on to say that akin to Lord Shiva PM Modi drank poison. He highlighted how PM Modi always kept confidence in the constitution and followed legal procedures without complaining.

HM Shah lambasted the Congress for spreading “anarchy” when Rahul Gandhi was being quizzed by the Enforcement Directorate in the National Herald case.

He asserted that the next 30-40 years will be the era of BJP and India will become a world leader or “vishwa guru” in the future. He also categorically said that BJP will end family rule in states like Telangana and West Bengal and come to power in states which have remained out of the party’s reach.

He also made a bold prediction for the North-Eastern states. He said that the region will have no more problems in future and all the pending issues will be solved by 2024.

The Assam CM informed about the major highlights of the Home Minister’s address. He said, “Amit Shah spoke about how the journey of the BJP has been in the North-East and development post-arrival of the Modi government in 2014. We also discussed how the AFSPA has been removed from the Northeast region in about 60 per cent of the areas. He also said that by 2024, there will be no more fault lines in the North-East and all the issues will be solved.”

Additionally Reports claim that the party paid tributes to slain Hindu tailor Kanhaiyalal at the event.

The party seems to work towards a “dynasty mukt Bharat” and making political inroads in states like Telangana, West Bengal and Kerala. It also highlights how the BJP is strengthening itself in the Southern states and will aggressively campaign in the next assembly elections. The support for BJP in the southern states is also on the rise. So, if the party increases its foothold in states where it never had formed its government, this crucial meeting would prove to be its foundation stone.
