The people of India are still facing the repercussions of the misdeeds of the grand old Congress party. The Congress, apt to say, the Nehru-Gandhi family along with their leftist allies, presented a very biased and distorted view of India and the Indian Freedom Struggle. The history books converted MK Gandhi to Mahatma Gandhi and docile Nehru to Chacha Nehru. Putting oneself on a higher pedestal is still acceptable, but demeaning and narrowing down the efforts of other freedom fighters is not. Both Sardar Bhagat Singh and Veer Savarkar are victims of the same. However, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal fails to understand this, or probably is using the distorted history for petty politics.
LG gives a go-ahead for CBI probe
In a recent development, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena recommended a CBI investigation into Delhi government’s Excise Policy 2021. This was done over a report that alleged violations of rules and procedural lapses and mentioned a monetary benefit of Rs 144 crores to the liquor mafia.
The aforementioned report cited was forwarded by the Chief Secretary. The report further mentioned that Manish Sisodia, the minister in-charge of the Excise Department, was involved in corruption and worked to benefit liquor barons causing massive losses to the exchequer. However, the legitimate probe has irked Kejriwal.
Kejriwal irked by CBI’s probe
Kejriwal has an old technique for attention grabbing, which is dragging the Central Government in each and every matter and Kejriwal’s recent retort is presentation of the same. Kejriwal converted the recent recommendation of the Delhi LG into an opportunity to attack the Modi government.
The Delhi CM, on Friday claimed that the Central Government and its agencies are building fake cases against Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia. In his all time rant, Kejriwal went on to make some bizarre statements, he said, “First the government decides who will go to jail, then they build a case. I have looked into the allegations levelled against Manish Sisodia, have found out that it is a lie. The case is fake.”
In order to boast, the motormouth Kejriwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party is not scared of jails, “They (centre) must be scared of jail, we are not. We don’t follow Veer Savarkar, who apologised to the Britishers. We are sons of Bhagat Singh, who laid down his life for the nation.”
In addition to this, Kejriwal listed three reasons as he blamed the Central Government for fake cases; which are the honesty of AAP leaders, the emerging AAP wave and the agenda to stop development in Delhi.
Why Kejriwal needs a history lesson?
Although, the Kejriwal rhetoric was bound to happen. But, the surprising part was that Kejriwal spewed venom against Veer Savarkar, and did not deter an inch to use the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh for his petty politics.
Actually, Savarkar and Bhagat Singh both were revolutionaries and historical documents suggest that they both shared mutual respect for each other. When the British Government hanged the trio, Savarkar had penned down a poem for mourning their death, bowing to their valour and courage. To add on to this, on the day of martyrdom of these three revolutionaries, the saffron flag on top of Savarkar’s house at Ratnagiri was replaced by a black flag.
Savarkar- A braveheart in the words of Bhagat Singh
Matwala, a Hindi weekly published from Calcutta, in its two issues dated, 15 and 22 November 1924, published an article titled, “Vishwa Prem”. “The one who loves this world is that braveheart, whom we don’t feel ashamed to call as a fierce insurgent and a fanatic anarchist — this is the Veer (brave) Savarkar,” the article said, which was written by Bhagat Singh himself.
As per another published article of Bhagat Singh in Keerti, a well-known publication, Bhagat Singh wrote in detail about how Savarakar had set up ‘India House’, which was then a popular hub of Indian revolutionaries. The article also elaborates how Savarkar inspired Madan Lal Dhingra, who shot Curzon Wyllie, to go ahead on his mission.
With the constant rant regarding freedom fighters and misquotation of history, Kejriwal has hit the last nail in AAP’s coffin, which will in turn end the political career of Kejriwal.
