BJP’s Tamil Nadu face Annamalai raises the issue of massacre of Chitpavan Brahmins post Gandhi’s assassination

‘The Kashmir Files’ unearthed the gory truth that was rugged under the carpet by the mainstream media and Islamo-leftist coterie. They whitewashed the crimes of the valley and dehumanised the Kashmiri Hindu community as cowards, oppressors of the poor Kashmiris, and whatnot. This was not an isolated act where truth was strangled through criminal conspiracy.

There are plenty of other heart wrenching stories of massacre all across the nation. However, it is to be noted that things are now moving in the right direction. The demand for truth is gaining momentum. Slowly we have been able to dig out the truth around the Moplah Hindu massacre and Congress’ hand in the Sikh pogrom among others. On similar lines, it is time to expose the culprits behind the massacre of Chitpavan Brahmins.

Time to shun political cowardice, political correctness

In India, politicians suffer from political correctness. They measure their statements on the scale of their vote bank. They refrain from speaking open secrets that don’t fit in their agenda. This has been the major reason behind many Indians being ignorant of the fact that Chitpavan and Deshastha Brahmins were ethnically cleansed at the behest of few players, which could include politicians. Yet there was no one to raise voice for these politically and socially ostracised communities, but not anymore.

BJP’s popular leader K Annamalai has highlighted the atrocities committed on these communities. While speaking to the media at an event, he raised how the Brahmin community had to pay the highest price for an act that was committed by an individual. He didn’t hesitate to speak the truth that these Brahmins were ethnically cleansed. He even compared it with how Hitler had hunted down Jews from every possible place in Germany. It is also unfortunate that they never got Justice.

He said, “The biggest punishment wasn’t for Godse. He got to give big speeches, in 5 parts about Mahatma Gandhi. But the ones who paid the highest price for this was the Brahmin community that Godse belonged to. After Gandhi’s assassination, Brahmins were hunted in Maharashtra, faced an ethnic cleansing. Like how Hitler did, they were chased from village to village. They never got justice. The act was committed by an individual but the price was paid by the Brahmin community. To be specific Chitpavan and Deshastha Brahmins in Maharashtra were the most affected.”

He was accompanied by author Vikram Sampath who has been a staunch supporter of Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Veer Savarkar was also a Chitpavan Brahmin, the community that was massacred after Gandhi’s assassination.

These unfortunate communities were subjected to unspeakable horrors just because of their caste. Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, was a Chitpavan Brahmin. What was the crime of those massacred Brahmins? Their birth in a Brahmin family was hated by some animalistic bigots to such an extent that they were butchered for it.

Right to know the truth

The scale and well planned targeting of these communities hinted at a well oiled machinery behind these massacres. It was accused that Congress leaders carried out this mindless violence and rage against the Brahmin community. The same Congress party was in power, which prevented these communities from getting justice. But the opening of cases in the Sikh pogrom opened the way for those persecuted victims to get Justice.

It seems that this statement by senior leaders like K Annamali is light at the end of the tunnel for these persecuted communities. They are still hoping to get Justice in their cases. Such a large- scale massacre can’t happen without the involvement of someone powerful. Hence it is time to punish the perpetrators of such crimes as a crime against one is a crime against humanity. One case shelved without serving justice gives criminal audacity to repeat such crimes again and again. So it is time for us to revisit such dark chapters and find out the truth about these gory events and let justice prevail so that aggrieved families get a proper closure and solace.
