Short biography and family of Himani Shivpuri

Shivpuri was born in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Her educational career is an exception as she did her early schooling at the all-boys boarding school where her father taught Hindi. The name of the school was The Doon School. Her father’s name is Dr. Haridutt Bhatt, a poet better known as Shailesh.

She participated actively in drama at Doon. While pursuing a doctorate degree in Organic Chemistry, she started a second career in theater. She performed as a supporting actress in Phir Wahi Talash.

She was married to Gyan Shivpuri but unfortunately, her husband died in 1995. He was a Kashmiri Pandit and the reason for his death is unknown. She has a son with her deceased husband. The name of her son is Katyayan Shivpuri.
