There is a PFI link in Kanpur anarchy

Karauli violence in Rajasthan had PFI links. Hijab row which was meant to disrupt the communal harmony in the country also had PFI links. Almost every violence which has taken place in the last few years has had PFI links.

PFI has always been found to be peddling anti-national agenda. Some also believe that the organisation is on its way to becoming the next SIMI. In such a move, it has sponsored another violence as the main accused behind Kanpur clashes has been found to have links with the Popular Front of India and its allied organisations.

The Uttar Pradesh Police has booked over 800 people, arrested 29, including the suspected mastermind. The Police has also detained 12 for questioning in connection with rioting and violence in Kanpur.

Kanpur Police Commissioner VS Meena said that “Documents related to the Popular Front of India (PFI), Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and Campus Front of India (CFI) were also found during searches at the premises of Zafar Hayat Hashmi.”

As per the reports, the accused will be booked under the stringent National Security Act and the Gangster Ac. Moreover, the properties of those involved in the violence will be seized or demolished, said Additional Director General (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar.

According to the police, “Hayat Zafar Hashmi, the national president of the Maulana Muhammad Jauhar Ali Fans Association, had called for the market shutdown to protest against remarks made about Prophet Mohammed by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.”

It was Hashmi who provoked people which led to stone-pelting and clashes between two groups. It is pertinent to note that over 39 people, including multiple police personnel, were injured in the violence after Friday namaz.

Kanpur clashes

The city of Kanpur witnessed ‘peaceful’ mobs hurling bombs and pelting stones at each other as violence erupted after groups of people forced shopkeepers to shutters down. The Islamists began the violence over an alleged insult to Prophet Mohammed during a television show. Clashes broke out in Pared, Nai Sadak and Yateem khana areas of the city after Friday namaz, police said.

It is pertinent to note that some local leaders, including Maulana Mohammed Ali (MMA) Jauhar Fans Association chief Hayat Zafar Hashmi, had urged people to close their shops on Friday in protest against the remarks.

However, after being confronted by the other community during the procession, they resorted to clashes and violence.

A closer view of the Kanpur clashes gives a clear indication that the violence was a pre-planned conspiracy. Police said Hayat Zafar Hashmi, who is the national president of the Maulana Muhammad Jauhar Ali Fans Association, had called for the market shutdown.

As alleged by a BJP leader, the procession was called on 5th June but the incident happened on June 3. That’s probably because the President, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister were in Kanpur on the 3rd of June.

Now, the PFI links suggest that the violence was a pre-planned conspiracy to carry out the riots against a particular community. The extremist group Popular Front of India (PFI) has been alleged to be involved in many illegal activities and violent protests. For this reason alone, there has been an umpteenth number of demands to ban this Radical Islamic group from every nook and cranny of the country.

What government needs to do is to take timely and strict action against these communal bigoted organisations.
