Is Kejriwal trying to clip Sisodia’s wings by raking up his corruption case?

Manish Sisodia corruption list

The Congress party is quite popular among the political intellectuals for cutting to size those politicians who have bigger political ambitions and are not the lapdog of the high command. We have all seen how Capt Amarinder Singh was thrown out of the party to retain a puppet like Navjot Singh Sidhu.

However, it seems like we have a new Congress party in the making. Yes, you heard it right. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal too is heading the Congress way and has already shown the exit to many AAP leaders. He is now trying to clip Manish Sisodia’s wing. Why and how? Well, keep reading for that.

Manish Sisodia arrest soon: CM Kejriwal

Two days back, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, came out crying on the arrest of Satyendar Jain. This time too, he was predicting another arrest. In an attempt to play the victim card, he stated that Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was being framed and was likely to be the next on the list of Delhi ministers who have been arrested over corruption charges. “I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi, throw all of us in jail together,” he said in a video message.

Mr Kejriwal said he had come to know about the arrest “from credible sources” and the central government was preparing to arrest Manish Sisodia on corruption charges.

“Reliable sources have suggested to me that Manish Sisodia is going to be arrested soon; centre has ordered all agencies to form fake cases against him,” the Chief Minister said.

“Arrest all of us in one go, have us investigated and raided. Then we can get back to work.”

“I want to ask the 18 lakh children who are benefitting from Manish Sisodia ji’s work in the field of education. Is Manish Sisodia corrupt? He brought glory to India before the world. Should a man like that be arrested or rewarded?” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief said.

“Satyendar Jain helped setting up mohalla clinics and people getting vaccines… but now they are calling them corrupt. I want to ask the students and their parents – Can Manish ji and Satyendar ji be corrupt? If they are corrupt, then who is honest?”

The Superhero turned oracle Kejriwal had predicted the arrests of Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain earlier in 2016 also. He had also offered a similar “prediction” this year in January for Satyendar Jain again. Interestingly, he has been arrested.

Given his arrest, it can be assumed that the party supremo is aware of the involvement of Manish Sisodia aids in corruption cases. His fear that the leaders will be exposed makes him predict these arrests. This is how he ends up exposing his corrupt party himself.

Arvind Kejriwal is the third man in AAP

Witnessing all of it from the wide angle view, one can easily notice how Arvind Kejriwal has been reduced to the third man in the party that he had founded. Undoubtedly, the prominent leader in the party as of now is Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. While Bhagwant is the full CM of Punjab and has more powers than Kejriwal, the latter is the half CM of the national capital.

As the Chief Minister of Delhi, Kejriwal doesn’t enjoy the powers that the Chief Minister of Punjab enjoys. On the other hand, Punjab is a full-fledged state in terms of administration, like any other state of India. So, Kejriwal is leading a less powerful government as compared to the Punjab government.

If Bhagwant Mann decides not to follow the orders of Kejriwal, no power in the earth can make him do so.

Next to Bhagwant Mann, we have Manish Sisodia who deals with most of the work done by Delhi AAP. Manish Sisodia has been associated with Kejriwal since 1998, from the times of Kejriwal running an NGO called Parivartan. Ever since, the two have come to be known as best buddies and each other’s confidants. Even during the Anna campaign, which Kejriwal unethically capitalized upon to launch a political front, Sisodia stood firmly beside him. As a result, in 2015, he was gifted with the post of Deputy CM.

Although that decision also hinged upon Kejriwal’s incapacity to get real work done, Sisodia, over time, has come to be known as the man who got all the work done in Delhi. From the ‘transformation’ of government schools to Mohalla clinics, all projects executed by the AAP government had Sisodia’s fingerprints over them.

For a party which is run by a hegemon, these are not good signs. Arvind Kejriwal, who is following the footsteps of Congress, is naturally expected to get rid of a potential competitor right next to him, as he did with the vile Prashant Bhushan and the clueless Yogendra Yadav in 2015.

While Kejriwal was a “CM with no portfolio”, Sisodia did most of the heavy lifting. He handled several portfolios- Finance, Planning, Tourism, Land & Building, Women & Child, Art, Culture & Languages and most importantly, the Education Ministry.

Given his political stature which is higher than Kejriwal’s, it is obvious for the AAP Supremo to be insecure and clip wings of Manish Sisodia by raking up his corruption case.
