Shehbaz Sharif has almost hinted that Pakistan might consider hurting the Chinese

No matter what you use in the process of planting neem, it is never going to give a sweetened fruit. The same phrase applies in the case of Pakistan’s state policy. The rogue state & its directionless policies have now decided to dump the Chinese after the change in its top political leadership.

According to news reports, the new Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the scrapping of the China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority. The authority was established in 2019 to boost the projects decided under the CPEC cooperation.

The Chinese dream

Chinese president Xi Jinping on various occasions has spoken about his socio-economic tool to establish China’s hegemony in the world. It is an effort of the Chinese to expand its cultural & physical power. The Chinese dream is a philosophical slogan around which every Chinese project is aligned.

The continuous misadventure in the South China Sea & Himalayan region is part of the Chinese effort to showcase its growing military power. However, the Chinese were taught a great lesson in Galwan but it continues to suppress the small powerless countries in the region.

In the current modern state, when everybody is aligning with the modern civilized principles in foreign policy, its primitive mindset and imaginary dream are no less than a political tool of Xi Jinping to influence its domestic public.

BRI

Concerning the realization of its dream, the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) was one of its infrastructural tools to expand its hegemony. It’s a modern ambitious project of China to revive its ancient silk route.

The $62 billion CPEC was one of the many infrastructural projects expected to be built under the BRI. It connects China’s Xinjiang province to Gwadar Port in the Arabian Sea.

The corridor is expected to serve the dual purpose of China. Its eyes are set to expand its economic market in Africa & West Asia. Furthermore, the direct connectivity in the Arabia Sea will also help it to present its military in the region which poses a direct threat to Indian security.

Hole in the Chinese dream

But the corridor is passing through the highly destabilized Balochistan province of Pakistan. Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is constantly challenging the project and has launched a constant attack on workers & engineers working on the project as the project has forced lakhs of local people to displace from their own ancestral homes & land. Concerning the issue, local people are challenging the Pakistani authority & the corridor with violent attacks.

Furthermore, Pakistan’s PM order to scrap the specialized agency created to implement the project is definitely going to give a nightmare to China’s billions of dollars worth of investment in the project. It seems like Chinese dreams are shattered and it is finding its investment in the project that, neither can be spit nor can be swallowed.
