Kim Da-mi made her debut in the film industry through the independent film ‘2017 Project with the Same Name’. ‘2017 Project with the Same Name’ is an omnibus feature-length project produced every year with the concept of ‘a town, a story of two people’ directed by Lee Kyung-won.
Kim starred as a high school student in the mystery thriller Marionette in 2018. In the same year, she starred as Koo Ja-yoon in the action-thriller The Witch: Part 1. She was picked from 1,500 hopefuls who auditioned for the role of The Subversion, directed by Park Hoon-jung. She won a slew of newbie honors for her outstanding performance in a difficult part that included dramatic fighting scenes.
Kim made her television debut in the JTBC series Itaewon Class in 2020, which was based on the webtoon of the same name. She earned the Best New Actress (TV) Award at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards for her work in the drama.
Kim was announced to star alongside Choi Woo-shik in the SBS drama Our Beloved Summer, which premiered in December 2021. After The Witch: Part 1, the drama brought Kim and Choi back together (2018).
