The assembly election for Himachal Pradesh (HP) is expected to be conducted in November 2022. Parties have started to form their permutations and combinations to win the election. After a strong victory in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was expecting a strong displacement of congress in HP. But, due to the merger of AAP’s HP unit with BJP, they dissolved the party’s working committee in HP and the party has become leaderless in the state.

Leave winning the election, It would be difficult to save the organization for AAP

In a spree to leave AAP, earlier on 9th April, the state president Anoop Kesari, General Secretary Satish Thakur and President of Una Iqbal Singh had joined BJP in the presence of BJP President JP Nadda and Union Minister Anurag Thakur. Later on April 11, State President of AAP’s Mahila Morcha, Mamta Thakur and Vice President Sonia Bindal & Sangeeta joined the BJP. Further, leaving State President of Industries Wing DK Tyagi and State President of Social Media Ashish Kumar, AAP had no other option to dissolve the working committee.

BJP leader and MP from Hamirpur (HP) Anurag Thakur after giving formal membership of the party to the former senior leader of AAP said “Kejriwal had thought that the government would be formed in Himachal, AAP has now found it difficult to save its organization”.

Further, he said that “Kejriwal Ji, you will have to find candidates with binoculars to contest elections in Devbhoomi”.

Leaderless AAP in HP

The defection in AAP has led HP’s organization leaderless. Although, it was very least chances for AAP to win the election but after the defection it has now become difficult for AAP to save its organization in HP.

AAP’s senior leader Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal was touring the state just after a strong win in Punjab. Bordering on Punjab the party was hoping for a trickle-down effect in HP also. As AAP has displaced the Congress’s packet of votes in Delhi and Punjab, it was expecting the same theory of anti-BJP vote configuration in HP also.

AAP Knocked out before the match

The same lies of corruption elimination and freebees politics were the targeted agenda of AAP. But it seems that they have been knocked out by BJP before the start of the match. The top leader of AAP in the state has left the party due to his arrogance and dictatorship behaviour of Kejriwal. It was alleged by Anoop Kesari that local ground workers are being sidelined by the Delhi leadership and in an arbitrary manner party’s posts are being changed.

There are multiple instances of the authoritative working of Kejriwal in the past also. Those who do not stop lecturing about democracy and freedom has themselves made the consecutive party president since the origin of AAP. Whoever seen gaining popularity more than the Kejriwal was being side-lined by him. Kumar Vishwas, Prasanth Bhusan, Yogendra Yadav, Anand Kumar and many more are the victim of his self-obsessive personality.

The leaving of top leadership of AAP in HP is the result of his anti-democratic and authoritative character. Although, it was very difficult for AAP to give any challenge to BJP in the state but its dream to fight a good election is shattered. Now it will be very difficult for AAP to reorganise its leadership in the state.
