Why western UP is crucial?
Uttar Pradesh is politically a crucial state. The Hindi heartland state paves the way for 2024 parliamentary elections. Though the Purvanchal has been an undefeated bastion of BJP, the western region became even more crucial for the political parties due to one year long Farmers’ protest. The political analysts believed that the Farmers’ protest is surely going to dent the BJP. Hence, the BJP engaged all its important faces in the west. And it seems that the hardwork has paid off.

Western UP: The predictions
According to the self acclaimed political pundits, there were many factors in Western Uttar Pradesh like anti-incumbency, Farmers’ protest and Jat-Muslim equation. It was claimed that these above mentioned factors are going to give BJP a tough time.
But the election results trend suggest that none of this aforementioned factors could dent the juggernaut of BJP. As Yogi Adityanath is all set to be the CM for a second consecutive term.

BJP wins western UP
According to the election commission website, BJP has performed exceptionally well in western UP. The Jat-Muslim brotherhood was indeed been successful and they indeed together voted for the BJP. The Farmers protest can also be considered successful, as the sugarcane farmers have happily voted for the BJP. The saffron flag is all set to be hoisted in Uttar Pradesh and in western Uttar Pradesh as well. Not to mention, BJP won all the six seats of Muzzafarnagar.

In the election of 2012, BJP managed to win just 11 out of 70 seats of the western UP region, whereas Samajwadi Party won 25 and BSP won 23. In the 2017, BJP grabbed 51 out of 70 seats with the help of social engineering. This time again the BJP is all set to hoist the saffron flag once again in the region.
