Turns out that EVM did malfunction. In UP. IN UK. In Manipur. And in Goa

EVM Punjab Akhilesh Mamata

A bad workman blames his tools. That is what exactly the case is with opposition and liberals who are crying off their noses after BJP’s thumping victory in four of the five poll-bound states. BJP has managed to sweep Uttar Pradesh and retain power in three other states despite a considerably heavy load of anti-incumbency. Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal led AAP which has single-handedly swept the state of Punjab by winning 92 seats out of 112 assembly seats.

But, for opposition and left-liberal cabal, people did not vote for BJP, it was, in fact, the EVMs that malfunctioned. For them, the EVMs malfunctioned in UP, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur only. There were, however, no issues in Punjab where Kejriwal gained power.

Quite strange, right?

Mamata endorses Akhilesh’s claims of EVM malfunction

Days before the Assembly election results, scheduled for 10 March, the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party claimed that “The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) had been tampered with.” He went on to criticize the election commission stating that he does not trust the poll body.

Such was the fear of BJP that the Samajwadi Party even demeaned the election commission too.

Addressing a press conference, Akhilesh Yadav had asserted, “EVM is being transported without being informed to candidates. Varanasi DM is transporting EVMs without giving any information to local candidates. EC should look into it.”

Moreover, when he was asked how EVMs could be moved like that, a clueless Yadav said, “We need to be alert if EVMs are being transported this way. This is theft. We need to save our votes. We may go to court against it but before that, I want to appeal to people to save democracy.”

Mamata, too, joined the bandwagon. Following BJP’s victory in UP polls, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that there were EVM malpractices. In a bid to misuse the opportunity and attack the saffron party, Mamata Banerjee came out in support of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. She stated that Akhilesh shouldn’t be disheartened and should seek forensic tests of the same EVM machines.

Reportedly, Mamata alleged, “Akhilesh Yadav’s vote percentage increased from 20% to 37% this time. When they formed the govt last time, the vote percentage was 36%. There was a loot and malpractices of the EVM.”

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, too, was ‘concerned’ about EVM protocols. A day before the election results were to be announced, she tweeted, “This EVM being moved from an election sensitive state for training in another state is a bit far fetched and hard to believe! Why would ECI at a time when state results are awaited want to move machines from that state only? Winning or losing aside, it is a matter of concern!”

BJP hacked EVMs in four states, left Punjab for AAP

Aren’t the above claims a bit laughable? Yes, they are. If the above accusations are to be believed, then the only conclusion we are left with is that the accused party could only tamper with the EVM in four states. It could not have done the same in Punjab because of the fear of ‘Arvind Kejriwal’ or you can say the Congress party.

Ironically, no one is accusing the Aam Aadmi Party of tampering with the EVMs after it won the state of Punjab. Additionally, no one is accusing the saffron party of stealing ‘Punjab’.

I don’t understand why. Well, there is one more thing that I don’t understand. How is it possible that the party which easily managed to compromise EVM protocols to win four states could not win Punjab? Mind you, Punjab is the state that is highly important as far as national security is concerned. Despite this, the saffron party seemingly sacrificed Punjab so that it could win the other four states.

Doesn’t make sense, right? But that’s how things work in the liberal universe.
