In a country of about 130 crore people, where you see everyone is working hard to sustain his life. A simple 19 years old boy not only earns bread for his family but also run in the night to fulfil his dream to join the army motivates you to achieve your goal.

Lifelike ‘Pradeep’ can be seen in every village and small town in India, where before the sunrise they reach the field and train themselves to join the defence forces. Their craze to join the army does not go down by any financial difficulties. They practice hard without the training shoes or any resources.

The tale of Pradeep Mehra is truly inspiring and appreciation around is commendable. But If we see around ourselves there are many ‘Pradeeps’ who are running barefoot with the dream to join the army.

Disconnection from the ground reality

The elite media and people going gaga over the ordinary story of an Indian, reflect the reality for Bharat and India. Just like Pradeep where millions of army aspirants are training themselves without any physical or financial support from the system and reaching their set targets.

The lack of media attention on this issue has been reflected in the lack of support from the administration. The real issue

According to a report, many defence aspirants waste their years of training without getting selected because of some common curable health issues like ears, eyes and dental cleanliness or some uneven movement of body parts. The early health check-ups will not only help in the detection of health problems but also will help in living a healthy life. But due to the lack of proper medical facilities in rural areas, they feel helpless.

Moreover, Many defence aspirants like Pradeep run barefoot, because they can’t afford a pair of training shoes. They run on the uneven farming field due which they frequently get injured ultimately hampering the training process or sometimes get permanently disabled. An increase in infrastructural training facilities at the panchayat level will be a real help for the people.

Army – Opening the door for India to lead in Olympic medal tally

In a report by Hindustan Times, the excelling of youngsters of Haryana in sports comes from the very fact that in the early 1970s many youngsters joined the army and with the institutional support from the army they became professional athletes. Further after the retirement, they led the foundation of coaching for the young aspirants. This, not only helped them in getting proper training but also brought the government’s attention.

The dream of millions of defence aspirants will not only help them in achieving their goals but will also reduce the drought of the medal in the Olympic medal tally of India.
