The wheels of justice turn slowly but grind exceedingly fine. After 31 years-long wait, the ‘Butcher of Kashmiri Pandits’ i.e. Bitta Karate is brought to Court’s doorstep and the Kashmiri Pandit community sees this as a ray of hope for Justice.

The accused Farooq Ahmed Dar aka Bitta Karate has himself in a viral interview admitted killing Satish Tickoo as his first murder, just because Tickoo was a Kashmiri Hindu. In the interview, Bitta Karate also accepted the killings of not one or two but around 20+ Kashmiri Hindus in the valley for his master’s call of Jihad against ‘The Kaafirs’.

Bitta Karate is still the Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), a separatist terrorist organisation, banned under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). He is in jail for separate terror financing cases by NIA. He was among the first batch of Kashmiri Youths that were radicalised and trained by Pakistan to bleed India and create insurgency in Kashmir so that slowly it can secede from India.
Bitta Karate, Yasin Malik and other terrorists ran amuck in the Valley and led the genocide of the Kashmiri Hindus. This ethnic cleansing led to an exodus of around 5-7 lakhs Kashmiri Hindus and none of the culprits has been punished for these atrocities till now.
Delay in Justice is Injustice
The Kashmiri Hindu community has suffered a lot, the worst of which was happening to them on a daily basis. Their pain and sufferings had been ignored and some even called it an exaggeration, branding them as ‘cowards who flee their homes because of some irrational fear’. The denial of their genocide had been the norm so far but thanks to the tireless effort of this enlightened community and a new film ‘The Kashmir Files’, the common man of India has come to know some extent of their pain and suffering.

It was disheartening to see even the Supreme Court didn’t give them a chance to put their case. The Honourable SC rejected the plea saying a lot of time has passed since then and finding evidence would be difficult. But the Honourable SC has many times with a larger bench has reversed their judgements and the legal course of action, Curative petition, can be looked at again by the hapless Kashmiri Hindu Community.
The denial of genocide is a crime in Europe and the government should learn from this so that the pain of Kashmiri Hindus can’t be denied and ridiculed. The Actions of authorities off-late and with a lot of real information disseminated among the common masses, the hope of Justice for the Kashmiri Hindu Community has strengthened. The Srinagar Court hearing the murder case against Bitta Karate and NIA tightening noose on dreaded terrorists like Yasin Malik indicates that the wheels of Justice will grind these culprits and the Kashmiri Hindus will get a proper closure with Justice.
