A rape accused name Biki Ali, was killed on Tuesday night in Guwahati, when he allegedly attempted to flee from custody. According to medical reports, the accused has sustained four bullet injuries and was declared dead on arrival.
Last week, the Guwahati Police lodged a complaint of 16 year old minor girl, in connection with gang rape. Biki Ali and four others Faizur Ali, Puna Ali, Pinku Ali and Raja Ali were accused of raping the minor and blackmailing her.
Minor was allegedly subjected to inhuman treatment by the rapists
Reports suggest that the minor was allegedly raped on February 16, when Biki took her to his home along with a friend and both of them raped her together. They even recorded the act and threatened the minor to post it online if she reported the matter.
Then, three days later, he blackmailed her into accompanying him to a hotel, threatening that the visuals would be made viral if she denied. Biki Ali was joined by four other accused in the hotel room where they gang-raped her and again recorded the video of heinous act. The recording was also uploaded on social media.
Police nabbed the accused from Guwahati
A week after the complaint was registered; Biki Ali was nabbed from Dampur hills on the outskirts of Guwahati. The Assam police had booked the accused under section 376(D) of the IPC, section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and section 679(B) of the Information Technology Act.
Killed while trying to run away
The Assam Police took Biki Ali to recreate the crime scene on Tuesday, where he allegedly attempted to flee from Police’s custody after attacking Twinkle Goswami, the in-charge of Panbazar women Police station in Guwahati. According to reports, Police fired four bullets in which accused Biki Ali was killed.
Guwahati Medical College Hospital superintendent Abhijit Sarma said the rape accused Ali sustained four injury marks—one in the chest and three in the back. “He was brought to our hospital after 1 am [Wednesday] where he was declared brought dead. Details of gunshot wounds will be available after post-mortem.”
Sarma said police officer Twinkle Goswami, the in-charge of Panbazar women police station in Guwahati, was also injured in the incident. “The officer, who sustained minor injuries in her leg and hand, is admitted to the hospital. Her condition is stated to be stable.”
On the other hand where Congress ruled Rajasthan is on number one regarding incident of rapes and the statements of family members are changed on the second day of lodging the complaint.
